Surprising Sixers at the Palace
Some people think the 76ers might actually contend next year, and if you've just assumed they're playing out the string of another losing season this year, you might be surprised to see they've actually gone 15-8 in their last 23 games.
If Detroit wins this game, it'll be because the bench earned it -- don't expect any of the Pistons starters to play even 30 minutes. Ball tips in just a few moments on FSN -- as usual, leave your thoughts in the comments.

Amir: 7 boards, 5 blocks, 1 steal, 1-8 shooting, 3 fouls in 14 mins in the first half… not too bad

I’m loving the desperation the 76ers are showing as they guard Tay. I didn’t see who it was, but 6er guarding him called for a double team and Tay just abused him…

i missed the game because of the uber-competetive YMCA league game I had at 7… but this lil’ titbit definitely jumped out at me from the box score:
A. Johnson
Points: 12
Reb: 10
Ast: 3
Stl: 1
Blk: 6

If Amir can make more shots and get the fouls rather than make them, he’ll be solid.

From the box score, seems like Amir’s got good shotblocking instincts but he and Maxiell must have gotten killed on the boards looking at how many offensive rebounds the 6ers had.

Nazr was apparently home sick and Davis was inactive, so the Junior Pistons played without a real center.
