Laimbeer vs. Cash (yet another WNBA post …)

Bear with me, but here's another WNBA update: Bill Laimbeer vs. Swin Cash puts Flip vs. Rasheed to shame. Cash is an unrestricted free agent and had some parting shots on the way out: "When a coach loses their respect for you, and treats you the way he did me ... it's tough to deal with. ... I can deal with a coach attacking me to make me better, but I cannot deal with someone attacking my character, or my integrity. That was the hardest part for me."

Sounds like the bad boys are a bunch of old guys who are a little racist. Wonder how they got a long for all those years on court. PistonsG4Life, whats your take on this?

Well Zeke’s a racist and Laimbeer is a sexist. The original bad boys are back…but not in a good way. PistonsGirl4Life whats your take on this?

My take? Never happened. This is all a lie. That reporter has no idea what he’s talking about. Swin Cash was just injured this season and hasn’t been having a personal feud with Bill Laimbeer for 3 years now. No really some people who may or may not have watched a couple Shock games this year told me so. A couple days ago I’d have believed this nonsense but people who know better set me strait.

Also there was no second shooter Kennedy’s head just did that.

PS, here’s my actual take

At risk of offending the Detroit basketball gods, Bill Laimbeer doesn’t know or see everything. I think he’s done a great job with the Detroit Shock but that doesn’t mean he’s done a great job coaching Swin Cash. Katie Smith is great it’s natural that she would have taken some of Cash’s minutes but it’s reasonable to ask why a coach couldn’t find more time for both players.

Swin Cash is on the current USA women’s basketball team that just submitted it’s roster to the FIBA Americas tourney. Women’s bball isn’t like the men, the best players play international ball. Cash is one of the best 13 American woman players TODAY, even after her injuries. In a Game 4 where the Shock could have knocked out Phoenix and lost a 77-76 heartbreaker Laimbeer played 5 players more minutes than Swin Cash. So while Team USA coach Anne Donovan sees Cash as one of the best 13 players in America, Bill Laimbeer sees her as the 6th best player on his team. Maybe both are true. Maybe not.

Detroit should wish good luck to Swin Cash who helped turn a losing women’s team into a champion.

swin cash is not the player everyone thought she was comming out of uconn. She has always played with great players which has enabled the flaws in her game 2 be hidden most of her career but after her injury & Cheryl Ford’s injury this season she has been exposed the past 2 seasons.
She is a good athlete who runs the floor & finishes well in the open floor hits an occassional jumper here & there but thats about it. Swin’s game is very defiecient offensively she is not a reliable shooter, ball handling is suspect @ best and she has no moves. For a player of her size and athletic ability she does not compare to the Tamika Catchings or the Candace Dupree’s of the league she is an average player who fans expect 2 much from. I’m not hatin just stating the obvious 2 the unbias fan….

i think people should just let it go thats why you dont put to many good people on the same team because they all want playing time. u cant blame there laimbeer for being himself.if she show him how good of a player she is and maybe he would have second thoughts about the way he feel about.but if she played for a team that dont have as many good players they are going to exspect something from her every game and year so they should thank her for putting up with him
