Ron Artest … a Piston?
Ron Artest wouldn't mind being a Piston? From the Freep: "I wouldn’t consider not playing here," Artest said. "But right now I’m doing Sacramento. But it’s not something I’m opposed to, you know. That would be a hell of a first day if Ron Artest was in a Pistons’ jersey. That would be kind of crazy."

George W Bush will win the Nobel Peace Prize before Artest becomes a Piston.

While I agree that it’s remote I don’t think it’s quite that extreme. If Joe believed he was a good fit and could aid in winning the gold I wouldn’t be surprised to see him lace ‘em up for the Pistons. They would just have to hope that being on a team that’s as cohesive as Detroit would keep Rapp’n Ronnie from falling off the sanity wagon.

Dude, I’m quite possibly high (they have me on alot of pain medication atm) but I SWEAR I called this like 2 months ago.
Seriously if we can get him for half a dime on the dollar we should take him. People don’t understand how freaking talented the guy is but, and I mean this yo…..he’s EVERYTHING the Pistons hope Tay grows up to be talent/basketball wise.
Otoh you are all right, he’s insane.
But whatever the guy is MVP caliber talented as a two way player, 4reals, you CAN’T pass that up because someone threw some damn soda and ice and it got out of hand.
I don’t care if the guy’s Pol Pot, if he can defend like Artest and put 20+ back in the hoop, you aquire that.

What kind of meds they got you on? Sounds like they’re potent – I would have figured you would be the LAST person to want Artest in the D.

OK,OK,OK,OK, if we package Brezec, Hayes, Herrmann and Murray’s expiring contracts, Sacramento only has to buy out Dahntay Jones, ($584,757)to make the 15 player roster. We get Ron-Ron, the opportunity to sign Webber and Mejia, and the possibility of Jason Maxiell and Ron Artest coming off the bench to destroy the C’s. I’m stoked.

Ok, Ok,ok,ok. Package Brezek, Hayes, Herrmann and Murray (all expiring)for Ron-Ron. Sacremento has to buy out Dahntay Jones ($584,757). We make room for Webber and Mejia. We destroy the L. What’s not to like?

siegfried: If we got ron artest, he wouldn’t come off the bench. Also, we’re not going to get artest by giving up a bunch of junk. we’d only get artest for some trade involving tayshaun. i’m very low on prince this season, but i still think this is nuts.
it might make us a better team…
…but its still nuts. what kind of nuts? circuit city discount nuts. time off to promote an album nuts. malice at the palace nuts. trade request nuts. tru warrier nuts.

oh, and also, malnurish your dog nuts. and beat your wife nuts.
its one thing to be a bad boy, its another to be a bad person. i don’t think davidson or dumars would ever put a bad person in a pistons uniform.

Mike, hate to be a stickler, but it’s spelled “tru warier”. Time to update your spellcheck program!

Yeah, well, Rasheed had a pretty bad rep when he got here…I’m just sayin’ it’s not as preposterous as it sounds(if you keep Prince).

You can not seriously consider any comparison between Rasheed Wallace and Ron Artest- Rasheed is a “model citizen” off the court, Ron Artest is a “model idiot” off the court, Rasheed plays with pasion on the court and someties looses his mind, he gets it back though, Artest looses his mind and gets suspended! Artest, as PG4L points out is a freak of NBA talent, but that much talent and that much idiot do not a TEAM player make! Artest is only happy when he is in the spotlight, if he can’t do it on the court, he does it off the court, anything to see his name in the papers, or hear it on ESPN, he would be a horrid fit in our locker room! Even if he was free, I would not want Ron Artest (nor Steven Jackson, nor Stephon Marbury, nor Eddie Curry, nor Zack Randolf (this is a never-in-a-pistons-uniform list)), Andre Igudola, Carmelo Anthony or Caron Butler I’d take them in a second…and with Tayshaun as part of the deal!

Honestly, Artest is head and shoulders above Prince on both ends of the floor. Prince has not turned into the defensive stopper we all hoped he would be, and after watching him get muscled around by Lebron and Pierce in the playoffs, I’d happily trade his .5 steals for Artest’s 2.3 steals per. Yeah, Ron is crazy, but all that means is that we can get him for less than if he were a “model citizen.” It will still be Sheed’s locker room, so I give it 50/50 odds he keeps Ron in control. Also, his (Ron’s) contract is up after next year, so you give it one year to see if Sheed can’t control him, and then you dump BOTH of their salaries in 2009
