Pistons host Knicks on Thanksgiving Eve
The Knicks are in town, and with a 7-7 record, they're not the same team everyone laughed at last year. Hell, after trading Jamal Crawford and Zach Randolph, they're not the same team they were last week. You know all those chemistry problems the Pistons have had trying to adjust post-Chauncey? Expect to see a lot of that from the visitors as Mike D'Antoni tries to integrate Tim Thomas and Al Harrington on the fly.
To make matters worse, the Knicks should be extremely short-handed -- Cuttino Mobley (heart), Nate Robinson (groin) and Stephon Marbury (sanity) are all sidelined, meaning the only healthy guards the Knicks have available are Anthony Roberson and Chris Duhon. With the Pistons riding a two-game losing streak, this game should taste better than tomorrow's turkey.
The ball tips at 8 PM on FSN Plus (that's 901 on Comcast -- see here for other cable providers). As usual, leave your thoughts in the comments.

So David Lee isn’t a favorable matchup for Amir? NOBODY has more blocked attempts than David Lee. And I like David Lee, heavy-duty rebounder that he is. Yet, seriously, no one in this league gets blocked more than David Lee.
No biggie, but…wtf?

Good point.
Any good links? The one at justin.tv is really bad tonight…

The Knicks are gonna all sorts of problems tonight, if we just abuse them down low, which appears to be our game plan.
Kwame v. Knicks = night of magic.

I didn’t even see the Justin.tv one but I might be blind. Still trying to find links myself.

Thank you for the channel 901 alert. I worked out early so that I could go grocery shopping early so that I could get home in time to watch the game.
I get home, after learning again why I hate Meijer, and HOCKEY is on? Recently moved up here from TX, and hockey gets about as much play on tv in TX as speed cup stacking. I was pretty pissed before I came here to vent. The 901 alert hit the spot like a fine glass of Canadian Club.

Lucas, Meijer is freaking awesome compared to any of the horrendous options that exist on the East Coast. If I have to go to ShopRite one more time, I might kill somebody.
Put me on the list of people asking for a link. I’d use the League Pass Broadband, but Comcast f-ed up my ability to get it and I have to fax my bill in to the NBA office. I’m so done with them. As soon as I go High Def, I’m switching to something, anything else.

Good thing Boney’s not here to see that Amir play. He had the ball 1 inch from the rim, got stripped, missed a wimpy shot attempt, got it back, then put it again again. He should have crushed it.
by Garrett on Nov 26, 2008 7:27 PM CST reply actions 0 recs
Garrett: He’s just beefing up those offensive rebounding statistics, that’s all. It’s a little game he plays.

Other Matt, I miss H-E-B Plus, not sure if anyone on the board would know what that is. But honestly I’d be ecstatic with a super-warlmart at this point. The Meijer near me (Ann Arbor, though the store may be in Ypsilanti) smells like throw up. 3 times I’ve been there and 3 times ive hit spots that were definitely puke. And the prices are nothing great either. I’m just sticking with a combo of Sam’s Club and Busch’s for now.
And why wont Amir grab the rim?
by Lucas on Nov 26, 2008 7:34 PM CST reply actions 0 recs
Amir’s getting some dirty stick-backs and offensive boards, so this looks like a game where he might be able to do well.

Lucas, if I recall correctly, you’re going to grad school at U-M. I graduated recently, there’s a Kroger up past North Campus that’s really good. The Meijer you’re going to sucks ass. The Kroger I’m talking about has a good deli and usually has fresh produce, it’s on Plymouth Rd.

LMAO Curry take shot at George Karl (perhaps in retaliation for Karl’s shot at AI)
Curry isn’t worried about Iverson’s physical ability to handle the defensive demands, just his understanding of the system.
“Those are all things he can do, but he’s coming from Denver,” Curry said before Wednesday’s win, in which Iverson scored 16. “He’s done it in his career, but they haven’t played defense out there the last couple years.”

The Amir vs Brown starting game has very little to do with Amir despite what Curry says.
Who it has to do with is Sheed.
Amir is a PF he is not a Center!!!
Brown is a Center not a PF!!!
Sheed is both a PF and a Center!!!
So if Curry thinks that Sheed matches up well with the opponent’s center and can stay out of foul trouble guarding him Curry will start Sheed at Center and Amir at PF.
If Curry thinks that the opposing team’s Center is too big for Sheed and could easily get him into foul trouble Curry will start Brown at Center and move Sheed to the PF.
by Mike on Nov 27, 2008 10:33 AM CST reply actions 0 recs
For example lets look at the Pistons next opponent; i.e. the Bucks
Bogut is 7’ and about 260, however he plays a lot away from the basket like Sheed does so he is a lot easier for Sheed to defend than Brown who can’t play defense anywhere but in the paint. So Curry will start Sheed at Center rather Brown and start Amir at PF.

How about LeBron’s ridiculous post-game quotes when the Cavs were in New York?
by Garrett on Nov 27, 2008 5:49 PM CST reply actions 0 recs
I’m so tired of LeBron’s flaky waffling on staying in Cleveland. Those people are gonna hate him when he finally leaves. I’ve lost alot of respect for him as a result. Just be straight with people and tell them you’re gonna try to win the next couple years and when 2010 comes up, you’re leaving for NY.

WTF, Iverson? I just get home from work and see this? So much for seeing AI after this season.

curry and iverson must win games. some think iverson must attend practice. i think curry should play amir. in the end it doesn’t matter if they win. their job is to win.

Wait andy – so there’s a difference between practice, which doesn’t show up in the standings, and the game – when it matters? I feel like I’ve heard that argument before somewhere.

Look – I know I’m supposed to be an angry fan – I know that. And I aint shovin it aside, like it don’t mean anything.

Guys, cheer up! AI was just confused. He thought the Knicks game was practice, so why have two back-to-back?
