I guess i wasn’t around the internet yesterday so this morning i woke up and turned to NBA.com to see how the game went and i saw the news of the billups trade.
I was shocked.
Then i came here and sae that dyess was thrown out (not traded but thrown) with him in the deal and i wanted to throw up.
I hate that we traded away C-bill no matter who we got for him but dyess?!
This guy came into our organization because we were contenders. he came to get his ring and it was visible in EVERY game. When people talked about the starting 5 getting complacent (bad spelling but i don’t have the patience…) i always felt they never meant dyess. he might have had shooting slumps but he always gave 100%. rebounding, defending and doing what was needed when it was needed and not talking about minutes or anything.
We traded away THAT guy to a team that won’t win the playoffs anytime soon (unless the stones, lakers, celtics and god knows who else opts out that is). So basically he got the shortest end of a very short stick and we fucked him over.
No matter how good this makes us, how much cap we clear or even if this means getting another ring, i can’t cut things so coldly. He wasn’t some karl malone/gary payton latching on to any team with a shot and a paycheck. he came to win with us and that ain’t gonna happen…
