An argument for Rip
Dave Dial makes an argument at Full-Court Press that Rip Hamilton, not Allen Iverson, should come off the bench. I've made my preference known, but either way it'd be progress.

Pistonscast agrees with you Dave.
We just did our two most recent episodes about Rip going to the bench!

I respectfully disagree. Since Rip has been with the team for several years now, I’d give him the nod. Although Rip has a reaching problem defensively, he’s taller and is not as easy to be picked off like AI. Also, I think Rip’s ego might be a little fragile if asked to be the 6th man. Hope I’m wrong on that one. I just want what’s best for the PISTONS!

Rip’s game is orderly so it’s better to have him start and run a few sets for him right from the start. If it works, great. If it doesn’t, you can go to small ball and slide Rip to the 3, sub in AI&Afflalo together, AI for Stuckey — there are more options with AI coming off the bench than Rip. Come out, run your vanilla Piston sets, and if vanilla gets the job done then it’s going to be a blowout. If not, tweak. It’s not rocket science.

He’s an NBA player. A veteran of how long… Why are we concerned about Rip or AI’s ego.
I dont like that argument. You still get paid the same amount and the team will be better.
That’s just way passed selfish!
