Dale or Jamaal?
Expect Dale Davis or Jamaal Magloire soon. My personal preference is Davis since he's a better defender (and has a name easier to spell), but how much rust has settled in? He turns 39 in March and hasn't played all year. Magloire, on the other hand, is about nine years younger and theoretically in game shape. Tough call, though considering they'd both be insurance policies, hopefully it won't actually matter.

Gahh!
Please, no Magloire! I watched a lot of Nets games this year, and he’s HORRIBLE. If that’s our choice… I’d take Dale Davis over him at 39, 49, or 59.

But…. Magloire is a former All-Star!
Haha, okay, I’ll stop. Seriously, though, Magloire is made of stone. He moves worse than Shaq. Or a 100-year old Dale Davis. I’d take Davis.

Magloire to Mavs sounds like, so lets roll out the welcome mat for Dale Davis.

Davis is a former All-Star, too! And just look how happy everyone was about it, too …

Cover us all in honey. Sweet, sweet honey. Call them bears in. Make ‘em smell the honey. But don’t let ‘em eat any of it. Gets ’em crazy, you see. Gets ’em riled up. Davis enters the room. 40 years old? Don’t matter. He grabs them bears. Stomps ‘em, looks real mean while he does. Like a scary movie. Then, he eats some o’ that sweet, sweet honey.

This honey all over me is making lint, dust, leaves, and everything else but grizzly bears stick right to me.
Hollinger’s scouting on Magloire translates to a zero inch vertical. Surely, Dale has 1-2-3 inches of lift on rested legs plus six fouls and plenty of grizzly bear practice to give Detroit down the stretch. That’s gotta be better, right?

Plus, there’s one less reason to spend a lot of money on Big Man Insurance: Yao’s out for the season.

Haha…I love the comments in that old-school response blog to Dale Davis being selected as an all-star. This one sticks out for me:
“David Robinson? Rasheed Wallace? Come on give me a break. Clifford Robinson is better than both of them put together — what a joke. Everyone knows he should have made it. David is old and losing his game and Rasheed is too cocky and arrogant. Personally, I would have chosen Cliff over both those two overrated and overpaid players.

I love Uncle Cliffy but there ain’t no way he was ever better than Rasheed Wallace and David Robinson combined. I’d argue that he was probably never really better than either on their own.
