The Pistons are in South Beach
Sadly, my search for a Chris Quinn mixtape was fruitless, so instead I settled on Blake Ahearn becoming Missouri State's all-time leader in three pointers. "Breaks the record! Breaks the record!"
I hope you cleared your schedule for this one -- it's going to be epic. (And by "epic," I mean if you have some grocery shopping or yard work to catch up on, here's your chance. This is the type of game for which DVR's AP recaps were invented.) Ball tips at 6pm on FSN -- leave your thoughts in the comments.

I can’t believe the NBA allows the Heat to put this team on the floor.

the squad miami is wheeling out should be against league rules. riley’s been tanking for that top pick all season. some shady and shameful s*** going on down in south beach.
even the young guys have lost interest in this game.

That move that Stuckey put on Cook was disgusting. He continues to impress. He’s not only starting to finish at the rim, but he’s making really smart decisions. He played excellent today.
The Heat are embarrassing. I couldn’t figure out why the Heat PA announcer kept dragging out names like “EAAAARRRRLLLL BAAAAAAARRRROOONNNNN!!!!!” All that does is remind people that Earl freaking Baron is starting and playing major minutes for your team. If I were that guy, I’d announce Earl Barron as quietly and quickly as possible so as to avoid alienating the 11 remaining Heat fans.

Existential crisis: will Detroit ever fall as low as this Heat team? will we be fans then?

Rob G, the answers to the questions that plague you can be found in the simple riddle: Are you still a Lions fan?

I saw a funny story about Pat Riley being at the same NCAA game as Doc Rivers doing some scouting. Riley told Rivers something like ‘Why don’t you get a hard time for being here when the press kills me?’ and Rivers went ‘Well Coach, we don’t have a game tonight.’ Too funny.
I didn’t see the game but it looks like Stuckey is getting more comfortable every night. I also think this is the first time I saw Stephane Lasme’s name since the ‘Name the Pistons ’08’ draft post was up on DBB and I thought Lasme would go in Mejia’s spot. I can’t even remember why now but kudos to Stephane Lasme for picking up an NBA check in Miami. Enjoy it while it lasts.

Nothing can determined by games like this except to verify that our bench could win in the D league, which is more than Samb did with the Mad Ants. LOL

Rob G: Perhaps these names will answer that question for you…..
Bill Curley
Eric Leckner
Ivano Newbill
Johnny Dawkins
Mark Macon
Mike Peplowski
Negele Knight
Rafael Addison
Walter Bond
Oliver Miller
Mark West
Say hello to your 1994-95 Detroit Pistons (minus Grant Hill, Lindsey Hunter, Allan Houston, Joe D, Terry Mills — what ever happened to the Sugar Bear, anyways?)

Here’s a link to my favorite 90s era Pistons player:
http://paspn.net/default.asp?p=91&phaction=3&playerid=66
I had fond memories of him hitting layups and Blaha excitedly saying, “David Wood floats it up, and fills it up!”

Garrett: Johnny Dawkins could at least ball before he got to Detroit (in the twilight of his career). Mark Macon was a complete disaster of a lottery pick (made by the Nuggets, not Pistons). How he was able to make 120 appearances for the Pistons over 4 different seasons is a mystery that is likely to never be solved. And he was a chump who never really spent time at his basketball camp at Franklin Racquet Club. Boo.

if there’s one thing Walter Herrmann could do… that’s the finger roll

I recommend to all that didn’t get to see this game to check out this link:

LawyerBoy: Yeah, Johnny Dawkins could play a little bit at one point, but 93-94 wasn’t it. :)
Rob G: I have actually pretty fond memories of that terrible Pistons team (and the one a few years after) because I was in highschool at the time and didn’t have anything better to do than watch every single game. I wish I could watch that many now! But I remember Terry Mills raining 3’s, Eric Montross being tall, I even remember a David Wood dunk! Grant Hill made those terrible players so much better than they actually were.
