The "DJ White is no longer a Piston" post
DJ White wasn't a Piston for long. The Pistons just traded him to the Sonics for the 32nd and 46th overall picks. And with the 32nd pick, the Pistons get ... Walter Sharpe.

Matt – Just have to say I find the two DJ White posts quite hilarious and wonderfully symbolic of that which is the NBA Draft.

I mean seriously WTF is Dumars thinking here? I swear this guy makes one good pick in the draft and backs it up with a year or two of God awful picks.
We needed a big guy in the post and apparently got him in White. Then we traded him for Walter Sharpe we according to Chad Ford is a "second round to undrafted" type of guy. Oh, and we picked up the 46th pick in the draft, because what this team really needs is more guys to sit on the end of the bench. Maybe the Pistons picked up Men’s Warehouse as a sponsor next season and need more guys wearing suits on the bench to help sales. That’s the only way this trade makes any sense.

austin slack, here’s Chad Ford on Sharpe:
Chad Ford’s Analysis: I like this pick for Dumars. Sharpe is a total sleeper who really emerged in the past few weeks as a legit prospect. The Pistons love his athleticism, length and scoring ability. He’s a project headed for the D-League.
With all of the projects on this team, the dude ain’t ever gonna see the court.

Chad Ford would have applauded the pick if Dumars took Amadou Ba. He loves Dumars and I have stopped listening to anything he says about our team.

Oh, and not sure how I missed this little tidbit too:
Negatives: Has played in just 18 games over the past three years.
Put this draft in the Mateen Cleaves, Rodney White, Darko massive failures file.

We might still get Bill Walker or CDR….7 more picks to go…

Chad Ford does love Joe D. I was just using his info though because I’m following the draft online at ESPN.com. Chad Ford was the only guy to have info on this Sharpe cat.

I just can’t believe that the guys we supposedly wanted were sitting there for the taking and we just out-and-out gave up on the entire draft so we could draft some projects to stash in the D-League. What happened to big tough talking “we need to make a change” Joe D? Since when is passing on a guy that can come off the bench and score (CDR) or a guy to rebound and play in the post a la Glenn Davis (DJ White) helping your team win the title? At the very least, drafting CDR would have given us more trade options if he truly wanted to break up the core. My guess is that the NBA called Joe D’s bluff, and there is nothing out there for us to trade for. We are getting the exact same bunch of cocky underachievers back next season. God, I can’t wait.

WOW
Thank U Joe Dumars
for makign us Sonics even Better now
we have the best young Nucleaus now to buld around
with Russell Westbrook, KD and Jeff Green 3 years we will be unstoppable
add in Chris Wilcox, Mohammed Sene, Johan Petro and DJ white
and now offence but this is dumb
the Pistons couldve selected A C whick they need and they couldve got DeAndre Jordon or Joey Dorsey

Who knows? Maybe he’s the next Rodney Stuckey. Clearly Dumars didn’t think anyone was worth a guaranteed contract.
