Who used to collect basketball cards?
I grew up collecting basketball cards. In other words, I grew up a nerd. I eventually stopped, but after reading about Andrew and Brian from Empty the Bench getting back in the habit, I may have to go buy a box myself.

I have over 30 Amir Johnson autographed cards, an autographed 1/1 printing plate, an autographed ball, and his 2005-2006 NBA Draft board nameplate, which hangs up on the wall whenever a pick is made in the draft. Of course, second round picks never have their nameplates hung on the draft board, but I figured it’s the only one of its kind.
I got a piece of floorboard signed by Amir and Cheikh, and unfortunately that’s the only Samb auto I have. There’s a joker on EBay that was willing to pay anything for Samb’s rookie autos, so he beat me out on just about every damn thing I bid on. Now, I notice that he’s trying to sell them off, but nobody’s willing to pay what he sank into them. I managed to snag 4 1/1 Sambs, though.
I’m going back to being a broke college student, so goodbye discretionary income. The ‘71-’72 Topps design rules!
