There aren’t many centers in NBA history who shot well from the field, a good percentage from the line, took care of the basketball, rebounded well, and played good defense. Laimbeer was good at just about everything you can be good at in basketball. I’m not sure how much of that was natural skill and how much was the result of a smart competitor making himself good but Laimbeer was very, very good. His antics are the least of his achievements. The guy could play basketball.
