Charlie V still sidelined

Even though Charlie Villanueva has yet to make his preseason debut, he's not yet concerned about his hamstring injury. From Vince Ellis of the Free Press:

"I'm going to take my time with this," Villanueva said. "If I still feel like it's bothering me or something, sit it out."

Villanueva, 24, got in some running Monday. But he said if it were the regular season, he would be playing and has no doubt he will be ready come the regular-season opener Oct. 28 at Memphis.

He's expected to miss (at least) the next two games, hoping to return Saturday in Memphis. The more time he misses, the more likely it becomes that he opens the regular season on the bench. Fortunately, he's cool with that, too:

"I've done it before," Villanueva said of coming off the bench. "It makes no difference. I just want to win some games.

"If that's the lineup he wants to go with, go for it."

So refreshingly unambitious.
