More Trade Machine Scenarios

I just went into espn.com's NBA trade machine, and it turns out, we can get Amar'e Stoudemire, Steve Nash, and another player of our choosing for Maxiell, Tay, Rip, and Stuckey. A lot to give up, I know, but we already have the guard depth and if we grab another Phoenix big guy it could work out in our favor. The machine said it would increase our wins by 41, and Phoenix's by 32. Why are we not talking to Steve Kerr about this?

It Is A Lot

Like I mentioned, but a healthy Amare in a division where you NEED a dynamic big guy to be in contention would be great. We’d be getting rid of some of our veteran leadership, but I’ll take an aging Steve Nash over an inconsistent Stuckey any day. Having an older, leader point guard isn’t so bad. We lost Chauncey, and we fell from top dogs, to barely getting into the playoffs. See a pattern, here? Plus, when Nash’s contract runs out/he retires, we can REALLY go into some rebuilding, with all the cap space we’ll have.

I was more joking, but there’s some big upsides to it.

No

We’re rebuilding, why break the bank for a 34 year old?

Because

We need veteran leadership at the point. Imagine a starting lineup of Amare, Ben, (Insert small forward here), Ben Gordon, and Steve Nash. That is dangerous.

defense

That would be a scary offense, but i’m not sure we could keep a high school team under 100 points. okay, maybe a high school team, but not many NBA teams. Amare doesn’t really know what defense is i don’t think, big ben can only play about 15 mins of defense a night, ben gordon can improve his defense but is far from a stopper and steve nash is really really bad on the defensive end.

I just plugged this in, and we are taking back salary (meaning we wouldn’t be able to grab another player, most likely) and it only improves both teams by 24 wins…

Bosh

And considering it would only take Rip and Maxiell for Chris Bosh.

Unless they got a confirmation from him that he wasn’t going to resign, Toronto isn’t going to trade away Bosh. And even then, any team would be stupid to do it before the offseason when they can do a sign and trade and ensure that Bosh will be a member of their team in 2011.

Yeah, i guess i should have added that, that would only be a good trade if it were a sign and trade type deal, definitely not worth it for a on year rental. I guess my main point was i wouldn’t want to give up a good chunk of our team for a point guard on his way down and a big who doesn’t play defense.
