Richard Hamilton Injury Update
Itching to see Richard Hamilton back in the lineup? Don't hold your breath.
From the Free Press:
Rip Hamilton (right ankle sprain) likely won't play this weekend against Washington or Dallas and could be out until the end of the Pistons' West Coast trip next week.
It's looking more and more like the Pistons will need a re-adjustment period when Hamilton comes back as opposed to seamlessly plugging him back in the lineup.
Are we going to see the minutes divvied up the same way they were in Memphis for the opener or have other guys earned more playing time during Hamilton's (and Prince's) absence that will create problems for Kuester? It's going to be interesting to see.

What the world did he do
How bad is this ankle. i mean two weeks ok i can understand that. but a month off is it more then a sprain. It kinda sucks for the head coach. Kinda Reminds me of last year and Curry all set to go with his starting 5.. Billups and the rest of the crew and with the blink of a eye here is AI. so 86 all what we had planned and worked on. Im sure it will be hard not impossible. but hard. Kinda like being with a woman with the Best D cup and come to find out it was all a padded bra.

Its becoming painfully obvious that the Pistons dont need RIP or Tay
One of them needs to go and maybe it should be RIP. He is only going to take shots away from Stuckey and Gordon. Prince would have no problem being a role player. Although I wouldn’t be too upset if he left too. Jerebko is playing great and Austin Day can step in and do most of the things Prince can do as a rookie, so he has the potential to be better than Prince.

I guess I thought Tay would accept a decrease in minutes better than RIP, but after thinking about it RIP is much more valuble overall.

Are you kidding me
Hello, Jerebko is ok, Daye is ok too they are both averaging the almost the same. Just because he blocked a shot dont mean he is as good a prince. He can step up and guard the Kobe Bryant and Lebron James or Ron Artest, and then Still be able to Keep up with Any Center in the league. So no Prince shouldnt go. As Far as Rip Stuckey Gets his points no matter who is in the game. Gordon is scoring more points then Rip Did so do the math, and Gordon is a come off the bench player and im sure he signed up for coming off the bench and didnt have a problem, so if Gordon can get 20 to 25 shots a game he is fine he even said that he would love to come off the bench as long as he was in during crunch time. so if Rip and stuckey are starting and getting the points they always get and bynum and gordon get the points they get now. What NBA bench can keep up with them? Which Bench has the Same type of guards they have. that can step in and be a starter at the drop of a hat. ? So is it obvious that we dont need them we only won a few games without them. It was obvious that AI would be a great fit for detroit last year remember. And you see how that obviously turned out

I agree, their bench could be lethally deep with Rip and Tay

Prince is limited offensively and cannot guard most centers in the league so I don’t know why you give him that credit. Good defences know he cant do much with his right hand and is going left 90% of the time. His first step is slower than it used to be 3 years ago. His value is simply never going to be higher b/c he has platoed and has lost a step. If this injury is serious who knows. He simply is not worth almost 10 million per season.
I guess I would keep RIP out of the two b/c he can play SG or SF and is still a great shooter. He has quicker feet on D than Prince and actually stays in front of his man better, but obviously isn’t as good a post defender b/c he isn’t as freakishly long as Prince.
I realize depth would be an issue if they lost both of them, but letting one(hopfully Prince) go would open up much needed minutes for Jerebko and Daye as well as give RIP some more minutes at SF. This would give the guards more minutes when RIP does play SF.
I never once thought A.I. would be a good fit, however the cap room gained in that trade led to the Pistons getting Gordon and Charlie V and investing in their future.
