Allen Iverson
Memphis have released Allen Iverson this month and still with all the problems he has had in the past two years, teams still wanna pick him up. The Miami Heat who will make the playoffs and the New York Nicks who will make the lottery. These teams are thinking about bringing him on again. Do you think a team should still put a effort into bringing him onboard if so WHY if not WHY NOT?

Good question
I think he’d be a great fit for New York because that will allow him to start and be himself — do whatever he wants. They’re awful and Iverson will help sell tickets in the Big Apple.

YEP
I feel the same way i think New York should bring him in i had his attitude but he can score because he will shoot 30 shots a night defense he isnt the best or good but he makes up for it with offense, I believe he coulda been a great assest to Memphis if he would have learned how to age with grace. Lebron wont be in New York. So why not bring in something to sell tickets for a year a two.

Great Fit
He’s looking for a paycheck, and New York is looking to fill seats.
I hate both Iverson and anything New York. So let them rest in peace. If he had trouble with the Philly media the New York media is going to fry him.

I think the Knicks should do it They have nothing to gain by losing this season (The Jazz have their pick) so by adding Iverson and winning 5 more games than they would have, they show Lebron that a superstar could really bolster their lineup. It’s a longshot for them to get Lebron (I think he’s going to New Jersey and they will end up with Joe Johnson), but it would help their chances.

It's official, New York passed
I was hoping they would sign him. I’ve had visions of the Titanic the past 2 days. But Donny Walsh hasnt lost ALL his marbles…. yet.
Denver signs him and they could be dangerous. My heart still hurts after Chauncey was traded. And I believe Chauncey has the fortitude to put Iverson in his place. Iverson might have been the league MVP, but Chauncey was the MVP when it counted.

Ya me too.
Denver would never. Iverson is a cancer and denver has a great team and really dont need a guard ty lawson is on fire, but New York really had nothing to loose thats why i was thinking they would sign him I mean they didnt sign anyone in the draft in the last 8 years and they wont get lebron for no amount of money. Miami wont do it because the pistons was in the same spot as they were last year good enough to win it all but just a few steps behind, im sure iverson knew he wasnt gonna be a starter last year and it would be the same thing in Miami he will pitch a fit after he doesnt get a chance to run and shoot all over the court

I say yes...
no matter what we think of AI, he still puts on a show. On and off the court. That means ticket sales. In an ideal world players would be signed for what they brought to a team. The reality (at least for AI now) is that players are sometimes brought in for revenue purposes. If AI does sign it’s going to be with some circus act team and AI will merely be a sideshow. If AI thinks he still has a shot at a ring, he had better start forgetting it.

Iverson didn't sell tickets here or in Memphis
and obviously he still feels as if he is a starter in the NBA. Which I cant say for sure he isnt until ive watched him play. I know last year he struggled even when he did start.
Dantoni offense thrives with players who dont dominate the ball, who can create for others. Thats why marbury flamed out and why they didnt pursue iverson. He can deal with forwards and centers having head cases because they dont control the offense. Iverson would have made that team even more stagnant, the offense would have stalled when with him controlling the ball.

he didn't sell for a couple of reasons....
Our fans have gotten used to winning. Let me rephrase were used to winning.
and in Memphis he played how many games there? The sample size is small. Generally speaking when you add a big name player to a pretty sucky team you are pretty much going to at least sell a few more jerseys. Especially when that guy is Iverson.
That brings me back to my point. Iverson will not end up on a contender. They don’t need to sell anything. The generally bad teams in the league do. The only way he plays on a contender is if he comes off the bench. Since we all know he won’t do that he’s never going to win that elusive ring.

Good Answer
But i dont think the Sixers will sign him only because he wont be good with coming off the bench.
