Honestly why does the national media still respect this guy? I remember how flabbergasted they were when he came off the bench last year, and Will Bynum got ahead of him in the rotation after the “injury.” Seriously, he just doesn’t have it anymore; his game was built purely off quickness that he lost years ago and he’s never had a great range shot.

On a side note, did he ever break his hand at some point? I noticed that he not only attempted the most 3s as a rookie (6/game), but also shot the third highest of his career (34.1%). I always thought players’ jump-shots were supposed to get better as they age, not worse?

Well he can’t blame this on the Pistons or Curry. I’m sure playing time was talked about before he signed, but AI is all about me.You misssed the whole pre-season and the first 3 games of the season. How does Iverson have no one close to him with the balls to tell him when he’s embarrassing himself? It’s just sad at this point. First MJ’s HOF acceptance speech and now Iverson running his legacy into the ground— the One-on-One Era’s champion and greatest disciple have effectively shit on any good will there might have been left for the late 90’s/early 00’s NBA. I hope all this glorification of the “me against the world”/“one man army”/“playground supastah” finally stops, what with its greatest practitioners (AI/Starbury) essentially embarrassing themselves into anonymity.

Sometimes I’m almost glad Stern changed the rules after ‘04. As much as it hurt the Pistons, the league overall has improved, watchability-wise, by leaps and bounds, and players in the AI-mold (volume shooter, me-first, no defense) have been relegated to the bench almost exclusively in today’s NBA (JR Smith, Barbosa, JET, etc.) where they clearly have the most value on offense and least detriment on defense.

I agree with Iverson, but honestly, I enjoyed the MJ’s speech, dude can say whatever he wants, taints him no way in my opinion.

Kelly Dwyer eviscerated him on Ball Don’t Lie. I mean, I thought the Grizz were going to be a disaster, but they’re not that bad without AI. They were murdering the Kings before The Canswer came in and proceeded to get burned by Beno Udrih(!!!). I mean, Zach Randolph has been a team player thus far (he even had 7 assists one game!), and even if he doesn’t play D, he’s still a superb offensive player. AI doesn’t even have that anymore. He is counterproductive in every facet of the game. If I were Chris Wallace, I would cut him immediately.

I hope Hollins stands up to him and puts him in his place.
