Game 23: Golden State Warriors @ Detroit Pistons [Game Thread]
Golden State Warriors at Detroit Pistons, Dec 12, 2009 7:30 PM EST
NBA Regular Season Palace of Auburn Hills Warriors Blog: Golden State of Mind
Pistons are going to try and make it five in a row tonight against the Warriors. They'll likely have to do it without four of their better players again.
Game 23
7-15 (3-10 away) 10-12 (7-4 home)
December 12, 2009 7:30 PM ET
TV: Fox Sports Detroit Radio: 97.1 The Fan
Probable starters:
Stephen Curry
PG
Chucky Atkins
Monta Ellis
SG
Rodney Stuckey
Corey Maggette
SF
Jonas Jerebko
Vladimir Radmanovic
PF
Jason Maxiell
Mikki Moore
C
Ben Wallace
The Pistons have had no problem adjusting to all the injury problems this season, though.
Despite their problems staying healthy, the Pistons (10-12) have improbably boosted their scoring average to 98.5 during their win streak after averaging 90.6 while losing eight of nine from Nov. 15-Dec. 2. They also topped 100 points for the fourth time this season Thursday.
And that's a good sign coming into a game against the Warriors. The Warriors play at the fastest pace in the NBA, scoring the third most points in the league per game, but they also allow the most at 111 ppg.
Detroit needs to dictate the pace of the game, because Detroit will most likely not be able to hang with the Warriors fast pace given all their injuries and style of play. The past four games are encouraging, though.
Pistons.com scouting report:
I'll be at the game tonight, so I won't be in the game thread. Hopefully, you can hold down the fort. I'll be back after the game and check the comments and have the recap up later tonight/early tomorrow morning. Go Pistons!
UPDATE: Richard Hamilton is BACK! He was activated and will play tonight.

You know...
Jonas could easily be trying to score some points right now. But instead he went for the no look pass. He continues to impress.

Looking at the boxscore real quick...
I’ve decided that Stuckey is playing point for Golden State tonight. That way I can say he has 7 assists instead of 7 turn overs.

I’m just saying it’s kinda fun with a just a couple people here. It’s kinda hard to follow large crowds in a game thread. Easy to lose track of the conversation.

that rip came back and the team just took it in stride without being put off balance.
coming back one at a time should ease the transition.
