sick and tired

is anyone else sick and tired of the pistons getting away from something that is working in the first half when they have a lead. For some reason the pistons always seem to get away from what is working for them. For instance, In the beginning of the season the pistons were tearing up teams with their dribble penetration and now you see one person with the ball trying to make a shot for themselves with everyone else standing around.

Its just frustrating.

I have my personal notes from the Pistons V Hornets game. They are the following.

In the first half the pistons were very aggressive before the ball crosses the timeline creating 9 turnovers for the hornets in the first half. In the second half they get away from this.

In the first quarter at least Jonas has 2 lane cuts that got him 2 easy lay ups. It looked like the Hornets were guarding him more closely the rest of the game though, so no fault to Jonas.

Stuckey has many moments were you can see where he is taking his game from the book of Chauncey Billups being outnumbered on a break with the mid range pull up J.(he drained it of course)

as usual most teams and players underestimate Daye's Size and Length. where he can get many steals and blocks on defense. BTW that block before the half should not have been a goaltend.

Bynum is very aggressive but in this game aggressivly carless with the ball, 9 assists 4 turnovers.

Would love to see Okafor in a Pistons uniform, He is not at his prime yet and many do not see his potential yet. Would LOVE to see Joe D get him. He would be a a Ben Wallace that can work the low block and score.

I missed the game...

but sometimes you can see alot from the box score and this is what I see….

-Stuckey cannot be throwing up 26 shots in a game and only land 11 of them. On top of this 6 TO’s are way to many for any position let alone PG. I typically subtract 1 assist for every turnover made so Stuckey to me was -1 in assists which means he did more to help the hornets than he did to help us. He needs to get consistent and to do so he needs to start thinking more when he has the ball in his hands. His decisions are getting quite absurd.

-Charlie Villanueva is thriving in his bench role. He continues to make the right decision scoring wise. Although seven 3’s is a bit much for any player to be hoisting.

-Glad to see Austin Daye get some big minutes and have some points to show for it.

-Will “The Thrill” Bynum seemed less thrilling than his alias suggests. 9 assists is nice and even by my stance on TO’s he still had good assist numbers. I’ll let him pass scoring wise tonight considering he’s trying out new shoes.

-Team numbers: Part of this loss could be attributed to us not winning the board wars. On the flip side though we had higher assist numbers than the competition.

Overall from the boxscore: the result’s of the game are reflected in the boxscore. You can take negatives and make a positive but the Pistons had too many tonight.
