Porter being fired wasn’t fair. He needed time to change the Suns over from D’Antoni’s run-and-gun squad to a traditional defensive-oriented team. He had his team broken up on him in midseason when Raja Bell and Boris Diaw got traded to Charlotte. The Suns have only extended their own transition period, which isn’t helped by most of their leading players being 30+ and no young guys to take up the slack except for Amare who is a one-dimensional offense only player, who doesn’t try to expand his game.
