MVP McDyess

Here's to hoping this puts a few extra dollars in Antonio McDyess' pocket this summer -- whether it's in Detroit or elsewhere. The guy deserves it. (Again, via @brgulker)

I was so happy to see this. I realize a lot of folks don’t like Wages of Wins here, and I realize it has its flaws — but it was rewarding to see some numbers to back what a lot of us here felt this season, namely, that McDyess was one of our best players especially down the stretch.

One other thing I like about that chart— it shows Chauncey Billups as the #6 vote getter in this season’s MVP consideration.

Being at the bottom of that list isn’t all that exciting, both for McDyess’s financial expectations, and for the Pistons’s chances of a return to dominance.

Listen to the newest episode of the “BS Report”, Simmons’ podcast. The guest is Jeff Van Gundy, and I can’t help but want him to be our coach after listening him talk about basketball and how it should be played. It’s real good stuff.

Maybe we should throw a ton of money at Doc Rivers while we’re at it, since he got tips from Chuck Daly, it’d be like living vicariously through 1/180th of Chuck if we got Doc to come here.

I used to be a BIG advocate of JVG coming here as a coach. I don’t know if he’s interested in coaching at all any more, though. I think he’d just rather talk about the movie he saw last night with Mark Jackson and goof off during broadcasts. But I thought he would have been an awesome fit.

Wow, take Marcus Camby off the Clips and they win 7.8 games?

In the low post JVG likes that Boom Boom Boom!

I might have to stop being a fan if we get JVG as our head coach. He’s an moron. Not only do I almost never agree with his analysis of the game, I don’t see how any of our players will respect him.
