Pistons Finish Summer League 4-1

The Pistons beat Cleveland on Friday afternoon 92-86 to finish their summer league schedule 4-1.  It is not quite pay back for the Cavs beating Detroit in the playoffs this past season, but it's nice to see the young players end the summer league on a high note nonetheless.

Austin Daye had another double-double with 20 points and 10 rebounds.  Jonas Jerebko finished with 19 points.  DaJuan Summers added 12 points and, for the second time this summer, had a summer league maximum 10 personal fouls.

Austin Daye ended the summer league with an average of 17 points per game and 8.8 rebounds per game.  DaJuan Summers averaged 18 points per game and 5.4 rebounds per game.

Free agent, Jeremy Pargo finished with 13 points, which gives him an average of 10 points per game in three summer league games.

The next move for the Pistons will probably be inviting one extra guard to fall camp and making that "big move" Charlie Villanueva was talking about on twitter (and the one we are all expecting).  Stay tuned.

Good for them...

I personally think Austin Daye is a good pickup. I think part of tayshauns problem is that he hasn’t had a decent back up behind him who can be a consistent scorer.

I'm excited for this season...

Daye looks good and so does the other two draft picks. Now all they need is a decent center (Wilcox), maybe even pick up Big Ben with the vet money and get the train moving. I predict that they will be a run and gun team. If they can secure their rebounds and play a little defense they will get teams to start looking at them.
Does anyone know what the hold up is with trading RIP? I like Prince but RIP has to go so that they can develop Washington, Bynum and Daye.

wrong answer

Joe D more then likely wont be trading RIP for one the team needs the playoff experience of him and Prince, and Washington will more then likely be the back up to RIP and Ben. Two Bynum is a point Guard and Daye is a Small/Power Forward. Which have noting to do with RIP. And i dont see any team letting go of their big Man for a shooting gurard who is not a super star. Boozier is too injury prone to risk a player like RIP or Prince for.

They.....

…..Have enough playoff expierience with Tay……Rip is gone….I mean its not like they will be going to the Conf Finals or anuthing this year…..they will stil make the playoffs and these young guys will grow from it……Rip will be on a different team very soon.
