Pistons Eyeing Brandon Bass?
The 24 year old warrior at power forward is reportedly being courted by Detroit. According to Bass's agent "They (Pistons) are definitely on the short list," The positives of Brandon Bass and one of the reasons he's being pursued by teams such as Orlando and Portland, is he's a straight up banger who isn't afraid to get physical. He goes hard to the hoop relentlessly and also shoots a high percentage on free throws (86.7) Bass scored 8.5 pts and gobbled 4.5 rebs in just under 20 minutes of playing time. He swatted away .7 and was very durable, playing in 81 games this year and 79 last year. The knocks on Bass are he's undersized for a PF and he needs to develop his passing skills (1:2 assist to TO rating) and possibly developing a mid-range jumper. He seems like a clone of Jason Maxiell though younger (Bass 24, Maxiell 26), and possibly better (Bass put up 15.7 pts and 8.4 rebs per 36 minutes, compared to Maxiell's 11.6 and 8.3), so you have to speculate the Pistons are looking at offers with Jason Maxiell as an additional piece. Detroit doesn't have enough to cap to compete with Portland so we'll have to clear some via trade if we are serious about getting Bass. It would be possible we move Afflalo, with Rip and Gordon occupying the backcourt, there aren't much minutes for the defensive minded swingman.

If he's undersized for a powerforward could he moved to small forward?
Also I’m sorry I just don’t see Rip and Ben Gordon co-existing. Would it be excellent for Rip to start as SG and have Ben come off the bench most definately. It’s not gonna happen Rip just won’t give up those kind of minutes. I think will see a log jam at forward with somebody needing to go before we let Afflalo go.

No he's not an SF
He doesn’t have the ball handling to be an SF and can’t stick with the opposing SFs in the league. He’s not that undersized either (6’8, one inch shorter than Ben Wallace).
I’m not sure about Ben and Rip coexisting, you can point to the AI fiasco all day long, but Ben Gordon is accustomed to, and likes coming off the bench. And if Vinnie Johnson can get his shots behind two hall of famers, Ben Gordon can get his shots behind Stuckey and Hamilton.

We'll see
I know you like Chandler, and I would be calling Dumars personally to trade for him if he didn’t have the nagging toe and ankle injuries. I’m worried that his feet are going to wear down from carrying around that 7’1 frame, and he’ll end up being a mistake, especially for his ludicrous 13mil a year contract. But, he’s only 26 so he has plenty of time to shore up his injuries, it might be too much to risk though
