"Where we are as a team right now is where we were at the start of Rick Carlisle's era here," "We are in the same sort of transition mode. A $4 million to $5 million coach is not what we need right now."- Joe Dumars
Alot can and has been read into these comments by Joe Dumars on his reasons for hiring John Kuester and not Avery Johnson. Most notably on Pardon the Interuption yesterday when they asked whether this means that 2009-2010 will be another flop season. Dumars use of "transition mode" while accurate does not convey alot of confidence. Does the statement mean that the Pistons aren't going anywhere with Kuester as coach? Or could it mean that Avery Johnson couldn't win with this group of players? Or is it that the sports media (and myself) are overly speculating and reading too much into this? I don't know, anybody have any thoughts? P.S. Just to get it in the open. Yes I also am a Buffalo Bills Fan, don't hold it against me too much thanks.
