Your most hated NBA player

ok so my most hated NBA player just made headlines last night and that got me wondering who do you guys absolutly hate? You don't have to have a reason to hate this player, but for some reason you may just hate him. Anyways just list em.

my most hated player: Andre Miller

Why: hes just flat out not a good player. I thought I was dreaming when i saw he dropped 52 the other night.

I laughed my ass off when I found out what he did with that shotgun and those pistols and that 3-wheeled motorcycle.

To be honest, if this had been posted a month ago, I’d have said Arenas.

I don’t hate the guy, but at the time, I was revolted by his actions — both what he initially did and then how he reacted to it, all of it made me sick.

by brgulker on Feb 1, 2010 9:33 AM EST reply actions

Arenas is so incredibly ridiculous.

I forgot (believe it or not) about him for a second. I’ve read that Washington is indeed going to try to void the rest of his contract.

That fat contract and his Adidas marketing campaign really blew his head up pretty big.. and it was large to begin with.

I think his incessant bullying of rookies and younger players, refusal to pay small (He’s worth over 111 million) debts to guys under him who are making 1/15th what he makes a season are what really did it for me. He’s a low life. It’s not just about the weaponry. Stephen Jackson is a piece of shit but at least he put the guns away and moved on. Arenas was unwilling to do that.

"I’ve had to overcome a lot of diversity." — Drew Gooden

by Skylar on Feb 1, 2010 11:34 AM EST reply actions

Yeah, the fact that he joked around about it, on the court no less, demonstrates to me that he just doesn’t get it.

You don’t mess around with guns — it’s a serious issue. I sincerely hope he gets time; maybe that will get through to him.

I also hope that Washington gets out of his contract. They shouldn’t be compelled to pay a player who has publicly disgraced their organization the way he has.

by brgulker on Feb 1, 2010 2:26 PM EST up reply actions

Agreed, I’ve never liked Arenas, his “antics” always at least bordered on jerkiness, and were generally mean spirited in a way that made me think he was probably an asshole outside of basketball as well. But, bringing guns into the stadium is dumb in a particularly aggressive way. The comparison I’ve heard that sounds apt is to Jayson Williams. A rich, asshole, dumbass, who has no qualms putting innocent people’s lives in danger for his own amusement. Throw the fucking book at him.

Also, can we make a “least favorite poster” fanpost? khandor is skyrocketing up my list. He’s making a mess of himself again in this week old thread.

by Gabe F-B on Feb 1, 2010 2:35 PM EST up reply actions

the conversation in that thread is almost mind numbing.

i cant handle khandor anymore, i have just decided to not participate in any threads he is involved in.

by dandresden on Feb 1, 2010 5:51 PM EST up reply actions

I'm gonna be honest here...

but we keep egging him on.

I’m personally entertained by it but by mentioning khandor’s name this thread is now ruined.

I am also a lebron hater. I don’t like him but i can’t quite figure out if I don’t like him because hes so good or if I just hate the way he goes about things.

Noah called Lebron on that punkass dancing him & his bitchmade team mates were engaging in.

for that, he gets my respect… he looks goofy but has turned out to be a valuable roleplayer- and stood up to the NBA’s darling.

because I hate Cleveland more and Noah verbalized some of my hate.

Why hate Noah

when you have Varejao.

The answer is simple.. Fuck Varejao and his Sideshow Bob-lookin’ hairdo

and being on a cleveland team doesn’t help his case with me.

I hate Shaq now too for joining cleveland.

varejao

he plays basketball like his countrymen play soccer. He flops 70% of the times when he gets hit.

he is Brazilian right?

no.

he’s a bitch from the great land of bitchtopia where the women are indeed femal dogs and the men tuck their dicks right into their own assholes to create mangina’s. That’s who varejao is, where he comes from, and what he does.

he went to school in bitchtopia though.

Kenyon Martin

I hate him. He is a punk ass bully to me. I remember before we got ’Sheed he would always try to push our players around. Once ’Sheed came to Detroit it seemed like he was afraid to even speak on the court. It was almost as if “Daddy came home.”

I hate Noah too, but he definitely dropped in my hatred list when he stood up to the Lebravaliers.

by Alex_Be on Feb 3, 2010 8:20 AM EST reply actions

Even though i think he's done

It’s gotta be Matt Harpring. Guy is just trash. I’ve seen so many games where he just comes in and ugly’s up the game. Bad knees couldn’t have happened to a worse guy.

Good call. Harpring is a tremendous ass.

by Gabe F-B on Feb 3, 2010 11:08 AM EST up reply actions

But you’d love him as a Pistons, same way we loved Laimbeer, don’t you think?

by brgulker on Feb 3, 2010 12:10 PM EST up reply actions

I’m not sure. Bill has always, always, always made it clear that the only thing he cared about was winning. All the crazy shit he pulled was a means to that end.

Harpring just gives me the impression that he likes being an asshole. That I’m way less okay with.

It’s kinda like how people complain about Chris Paul and Manu. I’ve never minded either of them, because it’s sooooo clear that all they give a shit about is winning the game. I can excuse a lot of things if it’s clear that is the only goal. With Harpring, it never seemed like he really gave a shit about the team-wide goal of winning. He always was just picking fights with random guys for the fuck of it.

by Gabe F-B on Feb 3, 2010 1:25 PM EST up reply actions

I forgot about Harpring.

He was very, very valuable to the Jazz, though. Good glue guy, to use the cliché. If I was a jazz fan (I despise them, and Utah in general just sucks I think) I’d love that dude.

KG, no contest

Mainly because of the crap respect from the media he gets for being “intense.” There’s a not-so-fine line between intensity and just being a dick, and KG crossed that long before he went to the Celtics (although that certainly exacerbated things). Pierce is a close second. Unlike a lot of posters, I genuinely like Noah. He’s earned my respect through his play — he’s not a flopper like Varejao — and his actions (dunking on Pierce, calling out LeBron). He’s like Marcus Camby with a goofy hair-do. How can you hate Marcus Camby?

You know who I don’t like, though? Jason Terry. He really gets on my nerves, especially with his asshole “jet wings” celebration. You hit a jumpshot, man. Shut the fuck up.

in the same way that stan van gundy is hilarious. they just shoot their fat mouths off all the time. really, kenyon marting is a joke, but that shit with him and cuban last year was completely hilarious. talking shit to someones mom? stay classy mark.

Cuban looked really stupid after that.

by Skylar on Feb 5, 2010 2:20 AM EST up reply actions

Cuban can be annoying

But ultimately I like him because he really, truly cares about winning. That’s refreshing in comparison to cheap owners in the Donald Sterling, Chris Cohen, and Jerry Reinsdorf mold — guys that won’t EVER go over the tax to help out their team. Cuban will do whatever it takes for his team to win. I mean, look at what Dallas was before he showed up. They’d been a joke for decades. I’d love it if someone like Cuban bought our team (in terms of caring; I can do without the somewhat obnoxious persona).

by Thom_not_Tom on Feb 5, 2010 2:20 AM EST up reply actions

Cuban is the best owner in all of sports. Hands down.

He’s rich, smart as hell, hilarious, doesn’t take himself too seriously, is very forward-thinking, and all-around cool— he came into a club my brother used to GM at in Chi-town last summer, and he bought all of us rounds of shots and hung out the whole night. Totally down-to-earth but completely aware of his image in the media. We could only be so lucky to have an owner like Cuban.

by The Joel on Feb 5, 2010 10:26 AM EST up reply actions

and yet I hate him.

Which is pretty easy for me to do actually. i hate an entire city for no reason, I single person is just too easy for me to hate.

by madpoopz on Feb 5, 2010 10:35 AM EST up reply actions

I'd love Cuban as an owner

In spite of his antics and lack of self-awareness.

He’s smart, he researches players before he signs them, and he spends enough money to get a winning product (and thus his teams make money).

And TBH, I just have a feeling that donning Piston Blue covers a multitude of sins, not just for Cuban, but generally. I hated Sheed until he played for us, and then I loved him for years.

I'm in a post for the "Most Hated NBA Player"...

DBB has a skull and crossbones in the logo…

and the ad at the top of the page is for the “Front Sight Firearms Training Institute.”

I’m not wishing any ill-will on any of these players but we know who we hate, we’re Bad Boys, and SBNation is giving us some excellent training tools to boot.

There is a level of irony going on here that I can’t chalk up to merely coincidence.

This might just cause a crapstorm

I don’t like Dirk. His game is too damn vanilla and he’s just kind of goofy. Yeah, he’s dominant and all that and he might be the best PF in the league, but he’s just boring.

All NBA suck team:

Nate Robinson/Quentin Richardson
Vince Carter/Manu Ginobli
Paul Pierce/Hedo Turkoglu
Anderson Varejo/Big Baby Davis
Dirk/Boozer

Anderson Varejo and Paul Pierce are the franchise guys.

by Roll The Dyess on Feb 5, 2010 11:30 AM EST reply actions

Really?
Why: hes just flat out not a good player.

Andre Miller is 3rd on the active assist leaders list and 24th in career assists and if he was to play another season or two at this level he could easily end up in the top 15 of all time. Hate him all you want but he is a flat out good basketball player.

I was unsure how Miller was named "flat out not a good player"

He’s definitely good. A very solid point guard. I don’t know if he’ll crack top 20 all time even, 15 seems like you’re dreaming a bit. Miller is quite good though.

Check the link

http://www.basketball-reference.com/leaders/ast_career.html

This year he is on pace for about 435 assists. That is including the beginning of the year when he wasn’t even starting. If he only gets 430 assists for each of the next two years he will be sitting at about 6,880(16th all time) career assists and if he was to get his typical 550 assists next year he would be sitting at about 6980 assists(14th all time).
