Boredom often leads to ill-advised decisions (maybe this is why Rip is taking so many bad shots this season...) but in a season where our record is now 0-11 in feel good wins, I figured we could all use some positive spin. So with that in mind and the full-fledged launch of NCAA hoops in mind, I figured a Draft thread would be in order.
Personally, I have never taken a particular interest in the top tier players in the NCAA because for as long as I've been a die hard Piston fan, the Pistons generally don't have a shot at any of these players. But now our level of mediocrity justifies paying closer attention to these potential superstars and as such, I'm interested in tracking these guys from the get go.
So here's DraftExpress's big board: http://www.draftexpress.com/nba-mock-draft/2011/
The one thing that really stood out to me while looking this over is that there are only 6 guys listed as playing the 5 position with most of these guys being PF/C splits. So if we had any hopes of acquiring a talented young big in next year's draft to fill our gap at the 5 spot, Blaha would sarcastically shout DON'T LOOK NOW.
However, if our mediocrity somehow nets us a top 3 pick, I like the idea of Perry Jones. So who are all of y'all going to track throughout the year? Any guys that aren't on this list? I for one will continue to track Artsiom Parakhouski who will undoubtedly be Red Pandaing his way through Europe this season.
