I don't know if any of you use the statistic Wins Produced to analyze player's true value, but it happens to be my favorite. If you want to know how it works it's outlined here. Anyway, so far this year the Wins Produced look like this:
To put it in context the best player so far this season according to Wins Produced has been Chris Paul with 5.7 total wins and .464 wins per 48 minutes, which you can see using the menus on the side. You can also see previous years, which is really interesting.
So, as you can see Ben Wallace has been a beast, just like last season. But you can also see that Bynum and Maxiell have been bad, which is disconcerting considering their contracts. However, it has been a small sample size, so these numbers will in all likely hood change. Still, I think it is important to look at this statistic in order to put a true value on our players, so far and going forward.
