How would this trade workout for Pistons
Today, when I log onto the Yahoo NBA page, this showed up:
Recently, most of us, saw this news:
http://www.mlive.com/pistons/index.ssf/2010/12/ford_charlotte_bobcats_have_ge.html
So just minutes ago, I came up with this trade:
http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=29446vv
Detroit gets:
Samuel Dalembert, Jason Thompson, and Gerald Wallace
Sacramento gets:
Tayshaun Prince, Austin Daye, Jason Maxiell
Charlotte gets:
Rip Hamilton, DaJuan Summers, future 2nd round pick
Why would Detroit do it:
For the last 2 years, we've been lacking interior defense as well as interior scoring. The presence of Samuel Dalembert could help with the interior defense as well as rebounding. He's proven to be a good rebounder and defender during his time with the Sixers. Jason Thompson, I think was improving, but with DeMarcus Cousins being in the team, his minutes decreased from 31 to 20 this season. Given time, Thompson could be a pretty good inside scorer for us. Gerald Wallace has been one of my favorite players in the league. He defends, he hustles, rebounds, and drives to get to the bucket. Great athlete overall, and he's not afraid to get hurt.
Why would Sacramento do it:
From the article I've read today, I think they want to change their personel. Looking at their roster, I've noticed that they do not have any veteran leadership. Tayshaun Prince would provide quite a bit of that. Furthermore, this would free up their overload frontcourt; none of their bigs average over 30 min this season. This would allow Landry and Cousins to be full time starters, with Maxiell and Darnell Jackson subbing. Austin Daye has an upside that could help the Kings next season.
Why would Charlotte do it:
There had been rumors about Charlotte showing "genuine interest" To Richard Hamilton. So I think this move could solve their scoring problems with Rip and Stephen Jackson.

Question being that I'm a Kings fan.
Why would the Kings need another tweener who is not that effective at the 3 spot in Austin Daye? What makes you think the Kings believe Daye is better than Omri Casspi, Donte Greene or Francisco Garcia?
As far as Jason Maxiell for Jason Thompson? The Kings need help, and, to put this kindly, Maxiell ain’t it. While I like JT, and think he’s a nice player off the bench, I don’t think the Kings will do it for a player like Maxiell. Ain’t no way that happens.
I can guarantee one thing. The Pistons or anyone else isn’t likely dumping salary on the Kings unless it’s (possibly) a player like Andre Iguodala involved. Otherwise, the Kings based on public statements by the Maloof’s and Geoff Petrie have said they are waiting until the CBA issue’s are resolved to take back money, and that includes a lowish end deal like Maxiell’s.
From a talent standpoint, I say no. From a financial perspective, I say mwahahahahah, you’re kidding right? You really think the Kings would sacrifice cap room next season for Jason Maxiell?
Good luck trying to pull this trade off.

No mistakes in the tango, Donna. Not like life. Simple. That's what makes the tango so great. If you make a mistake, and get all tangled up, you just tango on.....
Having said that...
…it’s clear from the poll that a lot of Pistons fans don’t think it’s realistic either.
