All-Star Saturday Open Thread
It's All-Star Saturday Night! Featuring ... zero Pistons. (Remember when Arron Afflalo and Bill Laimbeer would own the Shooting Stars competition? Sigh. Those were the days.)
On the flip side, at least there's Chauncey Billups, who's participating in the 3-Point Contest. Watch the festivities and join your DBB brethren in the comment section.

Leave it to the NBA to make a fast-paced, fun game like Horse become slow, awkward, and boring. Why not just let them play it out instead of drag it out?
Also, the Mavs just got Haywood AND Butler. Snap.

I hope he doesn't win this.
His ego is big enough.

It just got a little bigger.
After all, he is one of the best pure shooters in the history of the NBA.
haha...
“it just got a little bigger”
That’s what she said.

Not bad. I liked his 360 better than the switch-handed dunk.

Can I see an interesting dunk please?

now known as Gerald Wallace’s bitch.

I thought Shannon Brown, but now I gotta go with DeRozan.

I'm gonna go with Nate...
I think he has something up his little sleeves.

Not with dunks like that. Yikes. Can he really do that between-the-legs dunk?

theres a severe lack of originality...
especially for this late in the competition.

That was still pretty sweet for a little guy, though.

Way to kill the tiny bit of momentum they had by having an interview and some text voting. Hooray.

I think Jonas won the dunk competition...
because thinking of Jonas is more interesting than the dunks that actually happened.

Worst All-Star event winners ever. Except for Steve Nash, who is awesome.

actually I take that back...
give the trophy to Chuck. He was probably the most interesting person actually at the competition.

that was terrrrrrrrrrible.
Can’t they change the format or something? For a “dunk contest” there aren’t actually very many dunks.
Maybe do a sudden death “dunk off,” where both guys have to keep dunking until one of them gets a perfect score, then the other guy gets a chance to respond and if he gets a perfect score they keep going. So many ways to make it more entertaining.
weak all around
least favorite NBA player, Paul Pierce, wins 3-point competition he had to lobby for to get into and then I have to listen to Reggie Miller talkin’ about how he could have done better in the dunk contest — and sadly, I didn’t doubt him. I was looking for something sick from DeRozan and he just didn’t bring it. Disappointing.

That was turrrible.
Looks like the D-League and Streetball were head and shoulders better than this year’s NBA Slam Dunk competition.

Streetball
BTW, how the hell does Paul Peirce win the 3 point shooting contest?
WTF? “One of the greatest shooters in history”? Kill me.
Those videos were awesome! Thanks! I love how excited the dunkers get after they throw down a good slam. Shannon Brown and Gerald Wallace looked half asleep out there.
