Chris Bosh franchise player?
Just like to point out he's averaging 29 and 13 off 54% shooting and 4 assists in 40 minutes.
I've always been a believer he's a number 2 on a championship as his teams never go anywhere, but hot damn those are some big numbers.

I'm amongst the anti-Bosh crew on DBB
Aside for this season, he’s never been a player deserving of a max contract. I’m with you that he’s best as a number two on a title contender, paired with a dominating star guard who can will a team to victory. Bosh has never been the type of player to will a team to victory (his team’s record history is evidence), thus he’s not a “superstar” nor is he deserving of a max contract.
This year is an anomaly, it could either be the contract year playing its part or he’s genuinely taken the next step and hit his prime. If it’s the later, who knows, maybe a max contract isn’t out of the question (even though he’ll get one regardless).
While Toronto has gone through so many roster changes with big names to try and make things work for him, nothing has ever panned out. Their failure, IMO is in Bargnani, who is a solid player but not the right pairing for Bosh. They need a bruiser, a solid 5 who can bang and defend. Pair Bosh with an Okafor, Perkins, Kaman, Gasol, etc, and CB’s anemia is neutralized. Their focus on swapping SF wing players to fit with Bosh wasn’t very wise, IMO.
Agree 100%
I don’t see how any team that signs Bosh to a max contract wins a championship any time soon.
This year, he’s playing like a superstar, but in his own mind, he’s been a superstar every year of his career.
He’s a very good player, but he’s not good enough to give max money to. I could see him potentially working in Miami along with Wade, but only because those two would be able to attract veteran FAs who are willing to play on the cheap. For most everyone else, I think his contract will be too crippling to ever propel the team anywhere meaningful.
He'll learn his limits several years down the road, and take a paycut for a legit chance at a ring.

"his teams never go anywhere"
’nuff said.
Dude acts like he’s the engine- but he’s a cog.
A piece. Not the franchise.
I swear.

If I had a dollar...
…for every NBA player who put up career numbers in a contract year, then dogged it for several years after…
Hmm. I must be the only Bosh apologist on DBB. I think he’s the real deal, and while he’s probably not worth the max, I think he’s one of the superstars of the league. He’s not the hardest guy in the L, but he still gets it done every night. Like MP said, he needs a tough guy enforcer to balance out his finesse game, but I think he’s a franchise guy.
