Preparation game for the Timberwolves - Pistons @ Nets
Detroit Pistons at New Jersey Nets, Mar 26, 2010 8:00 PM EDT
Game Tips at 8:00 EST
Detroit Pistons: 23-48 (7-28 away)
New Jersey Nets: 8-63 (4-31 home)
Oppo Research
The New Jersey Nets infamy-aversion campaign continues as the Nets host the Pistons. The Nets are on fire after a scintillating 14 point home win against Kings, in a game that featured a combined 37.5% shooting effort from both teams, and are now just two wins away from a magic 10th win.
The Pistons, meanwhile, are riding a six game losing streak that has seem them taken apart at home by the Indiana Pacers. How low can they go? In spite of the fact that the Nets are on the second game of a back-to-back, they are nominal favorites to win tonight.
Keys for Detroit
Stop Devin Harris-- He is one of New Jersey's two scoring threats.
Stop Brook Lopez -- He is the other one.
Play Daye - I'm going to cut and paste this for the rest of the season. What, we have to give our starters big minutes to secure a win against the damn Nets?
Question of the Game
Can Northern Iowa mow down the cream of the Big Ten crop? An MSU-OSU rampage to the Final Four would be pretty impressive?
I'm pretty sure Northern Iowa could beat either team at the IZOD center tonight.

If we lose to the effing Nets
The whole team should have to walk home.

I can see how the NCAA tournament
Is more intriguing that a late season lottery team match up. But for whatever reason I’ve never gotten in to college ball except for the games I went to when I was in college. As always I rely on all of you for my college prospect analysis.

Same here. I was one of the biggest basketball fans in my small town, but people couldn’t figure out why I didn’t like NCAA ball. I just never got into it. I think it’s because I’m too lazy to follow all the players and figure out who’s who and what they can do.

As a personal “F You, Joe Dumars,” from one of the worst teams in NBA history.
That’s my reason. It’s not pure, I admit it.

I don’t like how Daye has only played 6 minutes, though.

Terrence Williams seriously must have some of the largest hands in the league. He palms the ball like it’s a grapefruit.
how quickly you forget about Walter
he palmed it with two fingers! but i don’t think he’s in the league anymore.. so your point stands

Kris Humphries in the game. I’ve been a fan of his since he was in Toronto. He works hard and always seems to do a lot of positive things in the few minutes he’s in the game.

Yi has a career high against us
So glad we could accommodate him.

I wouldn’t mind being a Nets fan right now — they’ve got a good young core and some wicked draft picks and possible free agent signings coming up.

I"m not exactly pulling for a W right now, but wouldn’t one think that BG and CV would be in the game right now? You know, to provide their ability to stretch the D and knock down 3’s?
Stuckey FTW WTF?

I don't even watch college Bball
But anything has to be better than watching the Pistons lose to the Nets.

Has Ben Gordon hit an end-of-game three since last November? He looks like John Starks out there, clanking everything.

Is Detroit cursed?
Is it just me, or does it seem that the most random of all people seem to kill us? It seems that every time we have a sure win, someone out of the blue either has a career high or at least a clutch 4th quarter.
Such as Yi, the guy was labeled a clear bust last year, and yet he of all people torches us for 30? I can understand Lopez, but Yi?

It's not just you....
I’ve been saying that for about 3 years now. Even when we were still pretty good, we’d let random guys torch us.

its the same thing with the lions. speaking of the lions, i hope i run into pacman jones down here in the d!
first thing I'm doing if he signs
is buying a Pacman jersey

its for real that he is coming here, im joking that i want to run into him. i dont want to end up in a wheel chair. i live right next to a bogus strip club down here in detroit so i think there are good odds of running into him though while he is “making it rain”
Lions need to make moves.
I’m 100% behind this move…it’s not like they are losing anything making it.
yeah, pacman coming here will help the economy too, the party store by my house will finally sell that $400 bottle of moet.
i'm with the sarcasm train
if they wanted to make the Lions better, they should have just kept Buchanon, or went with the kids they have, or grabbed Cromartie.
Good. Bad. I'm the guy with the gun.
pacman's a scrub with a name
and a record a mile long, no thank you
Good. Bad. I'm the guy with the gun.
I just want a Lions jersey that says “Pacman” on it and when people make fun of me for having a personalized jersey, I can say it’s Jones’. As for the signing itself, if he can somehow be tamed, he could be way better than Buchanon.

i'd rather have a guy
with less potential but no off-the-field record, every time.
Good. Bad. I'm the guy with the gun.
i wouldn't draft you
because that’s who you remind me of, mr. righteous rainbow.
Good. Bad. I'm the guy with the gun.
they have like 11 cbs
and just got chris houston and jon wade, i think both of those guys will perform better than rapsheet jones
Good. Bad. I'm the guy with the gun.
why aren't the bengals interested
they take in the halfway house kids
Good. Bad. I'm the guy with the gun.
The worst part about this game?
We were actually trying to win. If we had entered full tank mode and played our rookies a ton, this loss wouldn’t be all that painful. But we were actually trying to win and yet this is the best we could do.

so, i watched the game
and I feel like it’s worth noting what happens with about 41 seconds left. rodney turns the ball over then fouls, and they cut to Kuester, who does what? Looks up at the replay, and mutters “f*** me.”
recap is up
And I must say Kevin nailed it.
