So, I've been thinking about how we're pretty hemmed in by some gaudy contracts, and in another thread the topic came up about how the league could change the rules for contracts to more closely resemble the NFL. Let's pretend that the new CBA were implemented this summer, and the owners got what their NFL counterparts have: Non-guaranteed contracts. What would you do as pistons GM? For all the hate on this team after a disappointing season, would you fire everyone and start from scratch? Full youth movement and drop RIP and Tay? Something similar come up a few years ago with the "Allen Houston Rule" and provided for each team to drop one contract, and they all fell over themselves trying to get rid of their mistakes. How would you reshape our roster? With a scalpel, or a machete?
