Greg Monroe Having Foot Surgery This Week
It's mentioned very briefly in the article (first sentence of second paragraph, I missed it at first) but Monroe is scheduled for foot surgery sometime this week. It seems like a minor thing, but something about 7-footers having foot surgery makes me nervous (see: Oden, Greg).

meh Oden had bigger problems
Microfracture knee surgery is a far bigger deal than any ol’ foot problem. Besides Dumars said he should be playing within a week and it shouldn’t prevent him from getting into optimal shape for the season

I think it's a toenail thing
I think this is just a minor surgery to prevent ingrown toenails and infections, not related to the bones, tendons or joints in the foot. People get eye exams all the time but you don’t walk on your eyes everyday. Or something. If you work on your feet you should probably get a checkup from a podiatrist from time to time. It’s cheap and it pays big dividends in not being fatigued, or getting a bad back trying to avoid minor foot pain that you can barely tell you have.

or career altering surgery, I’m fine with whatever the hell cosmetic surgery he wants (except for perhaps gluteus maximus implants)

But Thump ‘n Bump 2.0 would mean that Greg needs a tall, nasty, excellent shooting white partner. And as of now, we don’t have that (unless if you think Jonas could play center in the future – which I doubt)

I had that surgery done...
I watched the doc do it and walked out of the office without pain and remained pain free.
