Excited to see him play

But I was most impressed by Cousins’ controversial way of playing of a failed dunk attempt

Was Cousins the big fat guy?

I kid, I kid.

Ton-DMC was by far the worst.

White is as good or better than Wall

in everything except the game of basketball.

Not true, I read on the webs that John Wall rules at Parcheese

with the exception of dunking

That was a 180 degree, through the legs, windmill dunk…from a guy only an inch or so taller than me…

All I can say is teach me how to dougie.

There shouldn’t be a dunk contest without Luke Harangody.

I hope NBA 2K and NBA live developers were there....

Terrico should have a 89-90 in vertical leap and a 82-85 in dunk this year. Now all we have to do is work on that jumpshot defense, passing, stamina and we’re good to go!

Bad Fucking Ass

I like the kid’s composure out there.

Also, DMC looked like a dork.

Terrico White

Hope I get to see some of that on fast breaks this year.

Upon further pondering

I think the proper title should have been “Terrico White ends impromptu dunk contest”

Where in the world is Trent Plaisted?

by Kriz on Aug 18, 2010 12:38 PM EDT reply actions

Terrico White FTW

That wasn’t even close. Wall was about the second best out there, but Terrico White made him look like a clown.

That would be cool if this bit of buzz carried over into the season and he was invited to the dunk contest. And won.

by garrettelliott on Aug 18, 2010 8:26 PM EDT reply actions

A Detroit Pistons winning the dunk contest would be ill.

He actually had some okay dunks in that contest, but unfortunately was overshadowed.

by garrettelliott on Aug 19, 2010 8:55 AM EDT up reply actions

I think they should put Will Bynum in. Its not like he’s taking a spot away from Lebron or Dwyane Wade.

by Biz Markie Moon on Aug 18, 2010 9:17 PM EDT up reply actions

you don't have to be on the all star team

To compete in the dunk contest (at least I’m fairly sure Nate Robinson has never been an all star and he’s won it 3 times)

by bearded thundar on Aug 19, 2010 8:58 AM EDT up reply actions

I think actually biz was making the point

that 2 of the aruably greatest and sickest scorers in the game, both having provided superfluous dunks in the regular season have never had the balls to man up in the dunk contest. As such, its not like Bynum would be taking a spot in the dunk contest from one of these guys.

Instead, he’d likely be taking it from Gerald Wallace or Shannon “Jason Maxiell ate all my babies” Brown.

by The Boourns on Aug 19, 2010 12:18 PM EDT up reply actions

Gerald Wallace is a pretty nasty dunker though. But Bynum is better.

If Terrico does this stuff all the time in games, he becomes my favorite Piston not named Ben Wallace.

by Biz Markie Moon on Aug 19, 2010 8:57 PM EDT up reply actions

is he? I disagree

I think guys like Bynum and Robinson get attention for their dunks due to their height. I’ve only seen Will due basic dunks, whereas Terrico pulled off a 360-between-the-legs dunk with ease. I’m much more interested in watching White dunk than Will

by bearded thundar on Aug 20, 2010 7:48 AM EDT up reply actions

Well, I think I’m saying that because Bynum won a dunk contest somewhere. But, I could be wrong.

by Biz Markie Moon on Aug 20, 2010 6:58 PM EDT up reply actions

he might have

But never in the NBA, I know that much.

I think Nate Robinson is a better dunker, as he’s more creative. I had never seen someone jump over a 7 footer in a dunk contest before

Between the dunks, his cuddly aesthetic, and his willingness to beat Carmelo's ass straight up

I really like KryptoNate.

Don’t get me wrong, that stuff is all cool, but his game is annoying to me.

by Biz Markie Moon on Aug 22, 2010 6:53 PM EDT up reply actions

I agree I don't like his playing style

But he’s one hell of a dunker, that much you cannot deny

Agreed.

Seriously though, if Nate Robinson was 6 inches taller, Carmelo Anthony would look like Michael Lee’s stepdad.

by Biz Markie Moon on Aug 23, 2010 12:25 PM EDT up reply actions

He didn’t really jump over a seven-footer. Dwight slouched and Nate used his back to propel himself over his head.

That’s what I saw and I’m pretty much never wrong ever. So, you know. Jus’ sayins.

by TDP on Aug 24, 2010 8:56 PM EDT up reply actions

I support this.

And remember it perfectly. Despite my less than perfect vision, I never mistake a dunk. My clarification of the 180 vs. 360 on Terrico’s should be justification enough of this point.

To clarify,

it was a 180, not 360. he starts his dunk with his back to the camera, and ends the dunk with his front facing the camera so he rotated 180 degrees before dunking. A full 360 through the legs windmill dunk would have required him to finish the dunk with his back to the camera.

He looks like a mixture between a Swedish Tony Hawk and Ryu from Street Fighter.

DUDE SHUT IT DOWN!!!

Just when all those rookies think they’re hot shit for getting drafted in the first round….

White, the Detroit Piston, goes out there makes them all look so stupid no one dares go again. And that was when he missed the first one.

If only he merited enough minutes to make him a slam dunk contest participant. Or at least the rookie-sophomore game.

Don't give up hope...

Maybe we’ll figure out a way to trade away Rip, Tayshaun, and Gordon for Dwight Howard
