Monroe, the seventh pick in June's draft from Georgetown, is recovering from a minor procedure on his right foot after Summer League.
"It's just a lot more comfortable," said Monroe, who hasn't resumed basketball activities. "It was something that gave me a little pain. I'm not hesitating on some movements I've had before. It's going to help me a lot."

Little things can make a big difference
Given how superstitious and particular players can be, a noticeable change like this foot surgery could lead to a huge change in how he plays. While the difference may only represent a 10% increase in mobility, he could realize a 10 fold increase in aggressiveness because the fear of pain is now completely pushed from his mind. Reminds me how Rip wears the mask for an injury 6 or 7 years old because he plays more aggresive with it than without it.
Slip him the big toe...if ya know what I mean...

Greg Monroe
Hopefully that makes him even better this year, can’t wait to see what he can do out on the court.

lol...even the free press has Greg Monroe as a PF
“It’s just a lot more comfortable,” said Monroe, a 6-foot-11 power forward from Georgetown.

ohoho yes! haha is funny
well, actually no not even the foreign dude on Family Guy would find the Freep’s puns funny.
Seriously what is it with journalists in Detroit? Our media refuses to call out bad players/management; seriously I think Feldman is the closest thing to a guy that won’t hesitate to point out flaws not named Mike Valenti and he only is a blogger.
It’s just annoying to also see the writing quality decline. Sure that pun isn’t a big deal, but we don’t have anyone that could apply to the Boston Globe or NY post without getting laughed at in the interview. By that I mean people who write truly enriching pieces that draw in crowds because of their ability to voice their thoughts and show what we cannot see.
I mean come on, that article about the Pistons being like Team USA was a complete joke, and yet it got published anyways. It just seems too lax around here when it comes to quality control, with respect to the media, sports teams and even our industries. The auto companies have greatly improved, but that was purely because they almost went bankrupt. I wish someone in government would just lay down the law and force people to tighten up their acts.

curse the lack of an edit button
makes it hard to rant about writing quality when I make technical errors myself. For instance that first “seriously” should have been removed and after “complete joke” should have been a hyphen amongst other things.
On a side note, part of the reason why I tend to nitpick is because I hold the same standard to myself. Just thought I should put that out there

I don’t know if this has been mentioned, but ESPN has, for our depth chart, our centers listed as Ben Wallace with Jason Maxiell as his backup… that’s it.
