Think about it in 2004, the magical year us, the Detroit Pistons(David), nearly swept the all mighty Lakers(Goliath). What was the key player? Was it Big Ben? Sure his defensive style bugged the living heck out of Shack and sure Billups shooting and passing had to do with it. Was it Prince's calm soothing demeanor guarding arguably one of the greatest guards of all-time in Kobe Bryant. No none of that when we brought Rasheed Wallace from the Atlanta Hawks we got what we needed a guy who could score inside and out and who had the personality to light a fire up under our arses. He showed that he play with the best and he brought that old school toughness and swagger that we had lacked since Bill Lambier and Dennis" The Worm" Rodman had left. There was no real way to defend against him you could force him down low but then he could kill you with his hook shot and arsenal of post moves. You could force him to shoot threes but he would shoot them and sometimes that mean't putting a bigger wing on him in case he had to drive which left Prince usually with a slower forward to guard him. He might not have had the best shot selection but he could sure draw attention away from prince and RIP. which is what we needed because Karl Malone could not afford to step in with help defense in fear that that would leave Sheed open for the kick out.
