Would this make the team better?  No.  Antwawn Jamison is basically an overpaid Charlie Villanueva.  Also, while it would save the Pistons money in the long term, it would eat into any possible cap space in the short term.

But, there's a good possibility that Rip's presence on the roster could be a major distraction moving forward and, out of desperation, this might be the only last resort option.
