"Detroit Piston Ben Wallace received a sentence of one year probation, about $2,700 fines and 30 hours of community service for his drunken driving incident in which he also was in illegal possession of a handgun."
Also worth noting: the gun (which was in a bag in the backseat) was registered to his wife, who was not in the vehicle. Wallace said it was in the car for protection while driving from Virginia to Michigan the day before. That's a lot less sketchy than him just having some random firearm, which is how the initial report came across.
