Knight or Stuckey?
After an impressive performance by our first round pick Brandon Knight, I thought I'd throw this question out there. Who should our starting Point Guard be right now? Should we put in the rookie from Kentucky right away and put Stuckey at the 2 with Ben Gordon coming off the bench? Or should we continue to start Rodney Stuckey at PG with BG at the 2 having Knight off the bench. Personally, I think we should play a few more games with Knight coming off the bench but keep giving him a lot of playing time and if he keeps putting up numbers like he did against the Cavs then I'd start him at PG. It might not be a good idea to have Stuckey at the 2 though because he'd be losing his size advantage on smaller point guards, but I think it's better to have a pass-first point guard rather than someone like Stuckey or Bynum.
Just wondering what you guys think would be the best option 2 games into the season.

Resigning Tay was a massive mistake, and not amnestying CV was a massive mistake, and same with BG.
Stuckey has the potential.

Yeah, I don't get why we didn't amnesty CV, I wouldn't have minded doing it to BG either
We only get to do it once right?

Word is they want to make those to earn their contract
As in the guy who doesn’t perform gets amnestied this summer

He has the potential
But I truly doubt that he will live up to it.

Stuckey
I think Knight should close out games and play big minutes but let Stuckey start until at least the All-Star break. If Knight clearly takes his away Stuckey’s job then that’s what you want in your roster, competition and improvement. Two games isn’t enough to tell anything.
I’m not going to spend three years talking about Stuckey’s new contract, or Prince’s new contract. It’s all about L. Frank playing his players in a way that maximizes their value now and holding Joe Dumars accountable for his valuation of players.
I agree with this completely.
Right now, at this moment I say Stuckey as the starting PG. Around the all-star break, maybe even sooner, we’ll have a better idea as to who that should be. Right now, I think it’s too early to make the change.
That said, it’s not like we have anything to lose…
lol sorry guys
Was just putting the options that we have to work with for the moment

speaking of which...where the hell did Flynn go? Am I completely crazy or wasn't he on the T'Wolves last season?

Stuckey
I don’t want to throw Knight out there just yet. However, If he keeps performing the way he did against the Cavs he should definatly start. I just think it’s too early to tell.

I agree with this
I say we start Stuckey for now, but continue to give Knight 20+ minutes and if he continues to play well then give it to him.

Does it really make a difference?
If we continue the 3 guard rotation of the last game, that’s plenty of minutes for Knight, Gordon and Stuckey. The bigger question in my mind is if/when Knight does start, is it alongside Gordon or Stuckey? But I’m thrilled Knight has already jumped ahead of Bynum, because I was afraid that would hold him back. As long as BK is getting 20+ minutes a game, I’m happy.
No not really
Eventually I’d like to see Knight start to get 30+ minutes if he keeps playing well. If he starts, I wouldn’t be against either Gordon or Stuckey coming off the bench. If Stuckey starts, then you get BG coming off the bench where he’s proven he can play most of his career. If BG starts then you have a better shooter and more complete SG alongside Knight. Either way all of these players are going to get a good amount of minutes.

Ditto on 30+
I’d love to see Knight earn the starting PG position, and hope that’s just a matter of time. He’s not always going to shoot as well as he did the other night, but 6 assists and 2 TOs is not bad at all. His shooting ability does keep defenders from sagging back on him like they do on Stuckey, Rondo or other poor shooters. A starting backcourt of Knight and Gordon is on the small side. Lots of folks on this site don’t like the idea of Stuckey as a SG. Obviously he’s not the long range shooter Gordon is, but is his defense on opposing SGs any worse?
Where's the option for neither?
Although I think the real question is, would Minnesota take Stuckey off our hands in return for Luke Ridnour and Anthony Tolliver/Nikola Pekovic?
With Ridnour, we could actually start Knight and bring Ridnour off the bench while giving Ben Gordon all the shots he could ever ever EVER want. Pekovic/Tolliver both fill a C position need and ultimately Minnesota gains some balance on their team.
DO IT KAHN.

I would take Pekovic
It would take a lot of pressure off CV31 to be the weirdest looking guy on the bench.

I got a PS3 for Christmas! So far I haven’t had much time to play, but I have the new Batman game and it’s pretty awesome. I want to check out Uncharted, too. It’s kind of nice being late to the PS3 bandwagon because old, awesome games are super cheap now.

agreed on the super cheap games, too. I got my ps3 last feb, and have only bought $20 games or borrowed from friends w/big libraries. Uncharted 2 is awesome, if you don’t want to fork out 60 for 3. Try out portal, too, very addictive.
