Around SBN: In Crunch Time, Spurs Don't Change Their Game

Richard Hamilton will have to be willing to give back a significant portion of the two years, $25 million owed him to get a buyout on his contract. Sources said the Celtics still remain intrigued with Hamilton as a scorer off the bench.

I detest the Celtshits

but this news is Supercool like Beas. I haven’t seen a damn thing since the Nets deal concerning Rip. I hope they can work a deal.

Ditto

I know it would probably be for the best, but I still cringe at the thought of Rip being a Celtic

I don’t think they’d go for it, too much depth lost at the 5. Even though they have Shaq, Big Baby, Perkins…. actually, they might do that.

The C's Would Do That Trade In A Heartbeat

I’ve seen Erden play once..not too impressed. But maybe others have better insight.

I don’t want JO, neither do I want Nate…we have that already in Bynum.

Celtics: “Hey Rip, we’d like to trade for you, but would you be willing to take a buyout for the last two years of your deal?”

Rip: “No.”

Celtics: “Nevermind.”

It's gonna take a lot of fireworks to clean this place up.

by Shinons on Feb 16, 2011 2:47 PM EST reply actions

That’s exactly how the negotiation would proceed.

That shit is disrepectful...

You don’t ask somebody like Richard Hamilton to come off the bench! People need to recognize.

Do Celts don't get a say in a buyout?

My understanding is the Celtics have no say in a Rip buyout.

Rip + Chris Wilcox for J. O’Neal, Big Baby, and Nate Robinson works straight up.

Celtics are on the hook for $15M more salary over three years in that deal, not that bad for a team with no long term window and a win now mode.

Terrrrribbbble idea we definately don’t need the problem child or watery knee-zzz JO and his CONTRACT. Tho I’m all for getting “rid of rip” at all cost. Here’s my idea what ya think

Mutually beneficial we get some young talent Celts get champions players

BUT DOOD IN UR TRADE WE GET WATTERY KNEEZZ JO 2!

Also, at this point in their careers, Ben and Rip aren’t winning you championships. And Ben Wallace is in no way an upgrade over Stinkface Kendrick. If the Celtics offered this, I’d consider it long needed proof that Ainge is actually a lucky moron.

by Biz Markie Moon on Feb 18, 2011 12:00 AM EST up reply actions

You r correct, I forgot just how bad Rip’s contract was. So including JO is a virtual must. Perkin is an upgrade they do basically the same thing but stank face is like 10 yrs younger, and expiring if it doesn’t work out. plus we might get our true pg of the future in bradley(who I really like plays good D, n very quick) plus rip and ben can still contribute and maybe get a ring

Pretty much. I wasn’t really watching basketball during JO’s prime. Could he be a mentor to Moose?

by Biz Markie Moon on Feb 18, 2011 7:39 PM EST up reply actions

Yes

If what we want him to become is a soft, jumpshot shooting, never rebounding, demanding a trade nearly every year after signing a near max extension punkass.

I really disliked O’Neal. As that post might suggest. I hated that whole Pacers team though, except for Reggie.

It's gonna take a lot of fireworks to clean this place up.

by Shinons on Feb 18, 2011 8:10 PM EST up reply actions

JO had a few good years, but now he could only teach moose how to step on the court and look lost, or how to get injured come back then….wait hope o NO… get injured again.

So, in other words, Andrea Bargnani if he was a complete asshole.

Richard Hamilton(notes), G, Detroit Pistons: It’s no secret that Hamilton wants out and the Pistons want to grant his wish. The problem: He’s due $12.5 million next season and at least $9 million the season after.

If the Pistons somehow reached a buyout agreement with Hamilton and waived him, the Boston Celtics would have interest in signing him. As for a trade?

"Teams that can absorb his salary are asking for a lot," one league executive said.

Condemned to Isolayshaun. It is Jod's will.
