Arron Afflalo is awesome
What Afflalo lacks in name recognition he makes up for in credentials. He has the best true shooting percentage (which incorporates two-pointers, three-pointers and free throws) of any "2" guard in the league this season, averaging 12.9 points on an economical 9.2 shots, and he is threatening to join the ultra-exclusive 90-50-40 club (90 percent from the free-throw line, 50 percent from the field and 40 percent from three). In the Nuggets' first game with a revamped roster, against Boston, they led by four with 2½ minutes left. In the span of 30 seconds, Afflalo made a jumper and a three-point play to bury the Celtics. A week later in Utah, the Nuggets led by one with 12 seconds left when Afflalo took a pass from Felton and made a three-pointer to finish the Jazz.

Afflalo is going to prove to be one of Dumars best draft picks.

Twenty three million dollars worth of shooting guards on the Pistons roster...
…and the one JoD gave away for free is better than any of them.
I'd have to agree with ya on that one...

Afflalo goes into that same category that McDyess is in for me...but to a slightly lesser degree
If the Nuggets were playing the Spurs in the WCF, I’d be all for the Spurs, but once Dyess retires (with ice), Afflalo will likely become my #1 non-Piston player in the league.
Dude was always a class act on the PIstons despite being dicked around and you can tell he loves the game. Sadly, Our backcourt would have probably been pretty nasty if we had had Stuckey and Afflalo starting and had never signed Ben Gordon (maybe having used that money to acquire David Lee?).
Stuckey
Afflalo
Prince
Lee
??? (can’t say Monroe since I don’t think we would have necessarily been lottery bound had we signed Lee instead of Gordon and increased minutes for Afflalo.

I think Lee’s performance in GS this year shows that d’antoni was inflating his #‘s. I like the line up, but I’m over Lee.

Lee’s season has been devastated by injuries. In December, he told reporters that he thought he’d be out for the season. I think it’d be wise to wait on judgment for Lee.
Also, the D’Antoni Inflation has been a myth. Look at Stoudemire. His rebounding has fallen off in a system that supposedly inflates rebounding numbers.

You do realize that he’s been playing with this all season right? A warning, that’s a picture of his mutilated elbow, so eat your breakfast before clicking. I think this season has only proved that he’s a serious badass.
It's gonna take a lot of fireworks to clean this place up.

I figured that would happen
I’m aware of the injuries, and am not saying “lee sucks”, just that as our non-piston hero’s go, I’m ok with us not signing him. Any inflation that d’antoni may or may not have on a players stats would be covered pretty well by the GS system, imo. Sticking to the list that you made, mike, I think DeAndre Jordan would be a more logical fit for that list then Lee, since he was another 2nd rounder that JOD passed on.
That’s a fair enough opinion. I disagree about GS’s system being equal to D’Antoni’s since the GS starting backcourt combines for nearly 40 shots a game with Lee going from a first option to a fourth option. I also consider playing with a hole in your arm that you can easily fit your thumb in is a fair excuse for a slight decline in performance.
I’ve never been much on the Lee bandwagon just because I want big men who protect the paint. So I certainly agree with you that Jordan would look great with us, but I think it’d be next to impossible for us to get ahold of him.

I always thought that Stuckey and Afflalo would have been a really good back court pairing. Their games were different and each could to things the other could not. When we signed Gordon i was almost certain that Rip was leaving and not afflalo, and I was hoping Rip could land us Al Jefferson some how.
