Panda Tournament - Championship Round: Jonas or Laimbeer. Voting Closed
Welcome to the Championship Round of...
The Piston Acquisition and New Development Awards Tournament
The tournament where users vote on future outcomes for the upcoming off-season. In the last round we had lots of surprising action
Final Four Highlights
- Laimbeer Rolls - There are plenty of Laimbeer fanboys giving each other highfives right now, but calm down. Laimbeer managed to win every vote, but that was because he was matched up against Mike Ilitch owning the team. This victory is as much a head-tilting win for Gores as it is for the former Bad Boy. Let's see how he fares next round
- Jonas Wins the Tiebreak - Jonas Jerebko and Austin Daye received the same number of votes, even after leaving the voting open for 3 more days. As a tiebreak I compared the total number of votes each option got throughout the tournament, and Jonas wins. Hopefully the two will wage as competitive battle next fall in training camp (if we have a training camp next fall that is). Final Round: Bill Laimbeer hired as Coach takes on Jonas Jerebko regains full health and a deadly 3
- Biyombo and Kenneth were victorious, because Biyombo is always victorious, everytime, forever. People would rather see Ben Gordon get 21+ shots so he could re-kindle his scoring touch instead of 30 minutes of the Will Bynum show.

A Jonas Jerebko regains full health and a deadly 3
B Austin Daye plays lock down defense
We need an elite perimeter defender. Our team defense just stinks, and even when it was good we couldn’t stop the top scorers who had size like Lebron and Nowitzki. Daye being able to stick with those long scorers would be a huge benefit.
Get Laimbeer in this piece
And dump Charlie Villaneuva. I’m sick of that soft clown-ass punk.

Jerebko, always Jerebko.
And alas for Chuck Hayes getting bounced in the first round. I like his game. I try to model my game after his, since I also can’t shoot but I like to play good post defense despite being undersized.
I try to model my game after him and Matt Bonner, aka the Medium Fundamental.

I model my game after a bizarre mixture of Demarcus Cousins and Pistol Pete Marvich.

Do you always get your shots?
Jonas Jerebko once killed a charging female rhinoceros in heat protecting its young with nothing more than a hook shot.
you must not be playing very efficiently then.

Haha! I don’t know why I laughed out loud at this. Instead, I should be weeping.

A) Jerebko
B) Troll other boards with fake evidence of Biyombo’s age being in his 30s to scare people away – he’s OURS, not yours, OURS!
It's gonna take a lot of fireworks to clean this place up.
The correct answer is:
Hire Laimbeer as Head Coach
Greg Monroe develops 18 foot jumper
Jonas Jerebko once killed a charging female rhinoceros in heat protecting its young with nothing more than a hook shot.
I'm with Biz.

I Think I Want JJ Healthy
Besides Lam, Jerry Sloan and Rick Adelman are available. Lam may have the inside track for a couple of reasons. You either hire Sloan or Lam, Adelman’s going to cost the same money as Sloan. Also, Sloan is really a Piston who was born 20 years too early. I got to see him play and I loved watching him.
I like the idea of Lam coaching the team, but remember, he got back into basketball after his cardboard business went belly up, and people tell me he wasn’t the greatest businessman. How this may translate into running a basketball team, your guess is as good as mine, but there should be at least some correlation. He did do a great job with the gals, but he also exiled Swin Cash to Seattle. Have no clue why or what that was about.
I’m going with Monroe developing the 18 footer. If he can do that, he’s a perennial All Star.
Just Vpinion
Couple good points
It seems you’re referring to Sloan the player being a Piston born too early, but as a coach I think he’d also make a great Piston. Whoever we go with to be our next coach, I really hope they implement more of a pick and roll oriented offense. That’d be the death knell to Stuckey’s Piston career but I think the rest of our personnel would fit very well with it.
The point about Laimbeer not being able to manage his way out of a cardboard box in the business world, I do think that’s relevant. I’d love to see GMs/ownership put coaches through organizational behavior and management training. I’d bet that when you look at the failures of most coaches, it doesn’t come on the court – that it comes from managing the personalities in the locker room and the PR battle.
It's gonna take a lot of fireworks to clean this place up.
Would it be the death of Stuckey's Piston career?
We haven’t run a pick and roll offense consistently enough to know whether he could execute. Of course it puts more responsibility on the PG to make the right decision which Stuckey has had problems with in the past (preferring to shoot instead of pass), but at the least I don’t think he’d necessarily turn the ball over any more than he currently does.

Dumping CV
…does mean that we eat his contract over the next 3 years right? We cut him, receive nothing for him in trade, and have his salary count against our cap as if he were still playing for us while getting nothing for our money. That’s preferable than trying to trade him?
no I think this implies we trade him for a box of peanuts more or less.

Sorry
I was being that jerk in school who asked a question that he knew the answer to so that he could sound smart.

Dumping Ben Gordon, Charlie Villanueva, and Jason Maxiell implies that we buy them out and we get nothing in return, and we are stuck with a cap hit of 1/3 of the salary for the life of the contract.
I’d rather deal with them and try to get rid of them without the cap hit.
But now that a wealthy industrialist owns your team, you don’t NEED to get anything for your money!
