Keith Langlois Asks: Do You Like Kool-Aid?

Hey, Keith has one hell of a basketball jones, but sadly it has a bit more to do with Jim Jones than it does Cheech, Chong, Skeets or Tas. "And even the most pessimistic Pistons fan would concede it’s not a stretch to believe the Pistons could finish ahead of Indiana in next year’s standings." I'm pretty damned pessimistic, but yeah, I think it's quite a stretch. The Pacers have a bright young point guard + bright young center + meh all star small forward, while the Pistons have a bright young big. That's it. Given that we have to un-build before we can re-build, I'd have to wager that next season is going to suck, and it probably should suck since we're going to need a high lotto pick to rebuild properly. This part is amazing: "How wide is the gulf between 30- and 60-win teams in today’s NBA? Maybe not as pronounced as conventional wisdom suggests." We almost won a championship this year, everybody. We JUST MISSED IT!!! Okay, no offense to Keith Langlois. He does his job very well and as a writer, he's good at what he does. It's the job that requires him to produce a positive spin, and it's a job I doubt any of us would turn down. That doesn't mean that I wouldn't expect plenty of prodding if I was forced to discuss silver linings in gray skies that are devoid of shimmer. Hit the link above, for the water kool-aid is fine.
