[Edit: Thanks for the game thread, Laughton! Bumping the time stamp to get this on top -- MW]
G'day fellow Pistons fans, and welcome to a small slice of what lies 'down under'.
I apologise for posting so early, but with time differences and what not I didn't want to risk over sleeping and missing this. Now onto the preview...
* Also Bogut has been shut down, so my post is now like some twisted alternate reality. Thanks to brgulker for the info.
Drama
Crikey! Both teams are disappointing but have some individual pieces worth watching. I don't really need to say much about Detroit that hasn't already been beaten to death. The short of it though is I don't like cry babies, divas, porous defence and bad contracts.
Milwaukee's season is as over as ours is. It could be excused as a result of injuries, like last year's Pistons, or more likely (in my epinion) as a combination of bad personnel decisions, bad chemistry, tuning out the coach and expectations set too high.
What to Watch For
Greg Monroe alley oop dunk shots.
Buffoonery.
Milwaukee's offense. Usually found on the back of milk cartons, if you have any information please call John Hammond.
Keys to the Game
Contain Bogut.
Outshoot Milwaukee.
The Matchup
Andrew Bogut vs. Greg Monroe
My heart is torn on this one. Over the last few games Monroe has been playing great basketball and keeping me interested in what is an absolute MONGREL of a season. Andrew Bogut averages a touch over 2.5 blocks per, which is good for first in the league and really anchors a Milwaukee defence that is only behind Boston and Chicago in points allowed. Have I ever mentioned Bogut would look swell in the red white and blue?
Prediction and Why We Should Care
Mercifully this season is almost over and we can hopefully look forward to some pretty big changes to the Pistons as we know them. Ben Wallace may be playing his last games in the NBA, that alone should be reason to try and watch. Also, Monrobocop and Dayewalker should be enough to keep most interested. Pistons by negative six.
