Pistons re-signing Stuckey long-term? MLive seems to think so....
I know Stuckey's value has been discussed at length around here. And I realize it's all pure speculation right now, but the term lucrative got thrown around at the end of the article and I know from reading around here that lucrative and long term are not the kinds of words we are looking for around here.
(Edit: I changed the headline from Yahoo! Sports to MLive, since the Y! article was simply referencing a Chris Iott column. But Chris did use the word "lucrative," adding that the decision to bring Stuckey back "appears to have been made already." -- MW)

lucrative is totally relative though...
lucrative to a minimum wage earner could be $15/hr…
Also, there is nothing wrong with the following scenario occurring considering most of us are expecting another dismal season next year:
- All GMs across the league are convinced that Stuckey will be re-signed well out of the range that he’s actually worth
- As such, no GMs give him an offer.
- Dumars extends the qualifying offer, and gets Stuckey for 1 more year
- Team continues to be bad, gets another lottery pick, and selects a PG/C next year depending on who they draft this year

Totally Agreed
Although these guys aren’t making minimum wage and I guess when I hear the term lucrative regarding professional athletes, I usually think long term and too much money.
But, I would be completely okay with the scenario that you suggested happening. Barring another Moose steal in the draft and some clever trades we will most likely be back in the lottery next year hopefully picking up our last key piece to go with Monroe and this year’s draft choice. I just am not wanting to see Stuckey in a Piston’s uniform for a 5 year contract for anything more than 6th man money I guess.
Yes
But a S&T would bring back more in return, presumably, because the contract would be larger. If we trade him at his QO salary, we cant get much back.
true
I guess I wasn’t planning on really getting anything major for him other than maybe a team’s late first round pick or possibly being able to put him with Ben Gorden and do a salary dump if BG is still sucking at that point. My thinking was that if we can retain him for the QO then he wasn’t too highly sought after to begin with.
Atlanta
Atlanta needs a PG badly. I can see them using some of Jamal Crawford’s money to sign Stuckey to an offer sheet. Stuckey kinda sorta fits in ATL. He’s an overrated scorer and that’s Atlanta Hawk basketball! I wouldn’t mind a Bynum-Gordon for Hinrich-Pachulia deal either. ATL could subtract a big and add a guard, DET could do the same. It makes sense so it will probably never happen.
So what I really want to know is—what’s new with Bismack Biyombo?

Meanwhile nbadraft.net has ’mack going 22nd? Is their ranking system crowd sourced or something?
Welcome... to the Wallace-hood
I'm pretty sure there isn't any reason to ever look ad nbadraft.net...like ever.
Unless you want to know how the draft isn’t going to go that is.

Lukerative
It just means Stuckey will be as fairly priced as Luke Walton. That’s not wrong, is it?
