Meh, my loins tell me that we can do biyombetter. We need players with beautiful eyes.
However, even though Thompson likely won’t be much more than a early-Maxiell role player, I would prefer him over those two chicks I keep hearing about, Jan and Kemba.
Got Hubie Brown's moms on speed dial.
My daddy left home when I was three
And he didn’t leave much to ma and me
Just this old basketball and an empty bottle of booze.
Now, I don’t blame him cause he run and hid
But the meanest thing that he ever did
Was before he left, he went and named me “Jan.”

It sounds like the Detroit Pistons really like Tristan Thompson at #8.
It sounds like the Detroit Pistons really like Tristan Thompson as a low-risk, low-reward alternative method of obtaining BLOCKS AND DUNKS.
As for me, I prefer to get my BLOCKS AND DUNKS straight from the source…

I mean, I like them, but what is that logo made out of? Looks like it could stop a bullet.
This signature is false.
It's some sort of plastic or plastic-coated twill
Most NBA authentic jerseys and NBA game-uniforms are being made with these kinda numbers and names now, I think.

I think it's time for subterfuge
Dumars can’t let everybody know what he’s doing, then the Kings or someone else might end up taking Biyombo.
Wait for Tristan to go up against the Congolese Nighmare in this workout on Tuesday. If ’Smack can rack up blocks against seasoned European big men what is he going to do against a room of half rate NCAA under classmen?

I hope to God you’re right, because with what happened last year, with Dumars acting like sitting on Demarcus Cousin’s dick would get him an infinite supply of Hostess cupcakes, it wouldn’t surprise me if somebody took Biyombo and Dumars lost his mind and signed Kemba Walker to a 20 year, 40 million dollar deal a la Magic Johnson.

All you need to know:
Bismack Biyombo:
Best Case: 6-9 Version Of Dwight Howard
Worst Case: Taj Gibson
Tristan Thompson:
Best Case: Tyrus Thomas W/better Intangibles
Worst Case: Shorter Jordan Hill
So one can be a smaller version of the best defensive big man in the league or a very good big man off the bench, while the other can be an average big man or a guy who barely gets off the bench.
Hmmmmm. This is a doozy.

Yes, but his worst case was Derrick Coleman.

Obviously I want Biyombo
And I don’t really even like Thompson, but Tyrus Thomas is a good player. His numbers shrank a bit down the stretch last season, but that was because he came back from injury too soon. First half of the season he was putting up a 20/10 per 36 and even got the first half 6th man award from Kelly Dwyer and Ball Don’t Lie. Thomas is a great defensive player whose offensive game seems to finally be developing.
That said, Tristan Thompson is totally unimpressive. He’s not the same caliber athlete that Thomas is, nor is he anywhere as good defensively. There are similarities (both are better offensive rebounders than defensive rebounders, both block shots at a high rate), but Thompson is never going to be as good as Tyrus.
How's that for a slice of fried gold?

Also, Thompson shoots 48% on free throws
Tyrus Thomas shoots 78% and is good at getting to the line. Not sure what those “better intangibles” are supposed to be. “Poor man’s Tyrus Thomas,” would’ve been more accurate, given the gap in athleticism AND skill.

I'd prefer Bismack
but I think I’m higher on Thompson then most here. Hollinger’s Draft Rater came out today and Thompson was actually the highest rated player among all NCAA big men. For comparison’s sake Monroe was rated a 15.77 last year and Thompson was rated a 16.21 this year. Since 2002 13 big men have rated higher than a 15.5 and most have been successful pro’s.
Here’s the list: Kevin Love, Michael Beasley, Greg Oden, Tyrus Thomas, Blake Griffin, Andrew Bogut, DeMarcus Cousins, Michael Sweetney, Curtis Borchardt, Greg Monroe, Jared Jeffries, Chris Bosh, and Derrick Favors.
it seems like Toronto is high on Biyombo.

high on him but maybe only because the Pistons are higher...they know that Vesely will likely drop if they don't take him
since Washington will likely take Leonard and Sacramento already has a few young SFs on their squad (Garcia/Casspi). If they make it “known” that they want Biyombo and think Dumars REALLY wants him, then maybe they think they can swing a trade of Biyomb at 5 for Vesely at 8 and grab another something from the Pistons…like say our 2nd 2nd rounder or a future 2nd rounder.
