undrafted 2011

This is my first post just trying to test it out. There were a few undrafted players in the NBA that carved their name and became a successful player like Ben Wallace. And looking at how some teams are doing free agency camp. In the last draft that happened a lot of college players that was not picked. Will most likely land on some teams. There are a few of them i like to see the Pistons get. So which player do you think the Pistons should get from those who were not picked?

Player A: 22 years old, 6’9, 7’3 wingspan, no step vertical 32.5
Player B: 20 years old, 6’7, 7’3 wingspan, no step vertical 25.5
Player A: 11.4 ppg on 57% TS%, 10.7 reb/40, 3 assists/40, .6 stl/40, 2.7 blks/40
Player B: 15.5 ppg on 51% TS%, 13 reb/40, 3 assists/40, 1.7 stl/40, .7 blks/40

Player A is Malcom Thomas, Player B is Kawhi Leonard. I never really understood why Thomas didn’t catch on as a prospect – whenever I watched SDSU he always stood out as the difference-maker for that team even more than Leonard. I’ve always thought he’d be a good flyer for us, as he plays with a mean streak and is a legit tough guy.

Probably because Thomas didn’t rebound as well as he should. Only 10 reb/40 with his size and athleticism? I’m guessing he’s a soft player and that’s why he went undrafted

Without a doubt, squats are a cure for everything.

He finished third in the conference in rebounds, and Thomas and Leonard combined for a 50% rebounding rate. Pretty good for a combo forward. I think the block numbers debunk the soft suggestion, and also word is he once squatted a Kia Optima 32 times. He’s a tough customer.

I’d guess the reason he fell out is because of his weaknesses on the offensive end and complete lack of a jump shot, but Leonard wasn’t particularly good on that side of the ball either…

remember Leonard is a SF

His fg% is supposed to be low

Why is Ben Hansbrough in the lead?

Who here actually wants us to draft another undersized SG?

Without a doubt, squats are a cure for everything.

The trouble with this offseason for these undrafted guys

is that there isn’t a summer league to give them a good look. Dumars hasn’t put a 10-day contract on a guy since Anthony Goldwire in 2005 (as far as I know). So I think outside of one of these guys sending Dumars about 30 free meat lover’s pizzas, we won’t be seeing them any time soon.

DO IT MALCOLM!
(and don’t forget the stuffed crust)

Tracy Smith from my beloved nc state

a little undersized for a PF, but is a dynamic scorer. Lost 20 lbs and apparently had good workouts with the Pistons and the Heat

I vote Skeen because he’s an upgrade over Charlie V.

To experience the consequences of my own choices. This is why I live

Also voted for Skeen. Efficient scorer from anywhere, decent size, decent rebounder, and quite a clutch shooter. Thought he’d go in the 2nd round somehwere. Malcolm Thomas would be my 2nd vote.

Rick Jackson, because he’s better than Macklin and almost three years younger.

Jereme Richmond

He was a McDonald’s all american but he came out too early. He kinda reminds me of Andre Iguodala (but obviously not as good as Iggy). He can play the two and three but he played the four for the Illini and played down low on offense since their center Mike Tisdale was a perimeter player. Tough kid with great athleticism, defense, and potential.

SKEEN

because he was the heart of VCU and is a upgrade over macklyne and can shoot the 18 footer. Certinaly wouldnt hurt the team. Malcom Thomas is who i would pick second after looking at comment #2

thanks for voting

i like Skeen, hopefully the Pistons get to invite him for summer if there is one next season. Also maybe Malcolm Thomas i think he is a stud Kawhi Leonard would not get that much rebounds if not for Thomas boxing out the other team’s big men. Maybe also Rick Jackson i never thought he would not get drafted and a few teams draft over him and took Ngoyombo, Hanga and others who were not even in mock drafts.
