Let's hope this is because he's too busy cleaning up the roster

He can look for coaches all summer after the lockout hits, but he can only get these trades done in the next 22 Days. Maybe this is why he isn’t going Europe and is sending some other staffers instead.

I don't understand how any of these bullshit columnists and reporters can claim that anyone is a frontrunner.

Joe has not met with anyone yet. Sure you can look at their credentials and coaching style and say, “this guy, in my opinion, makes the most sense,” but thats opinion, not fact. Yet they continue to present it as if its fact.

Until its confirmed that he’s met with at least 2 or 3 coaches, I won’t put anything into these ridiculous reports coming from any number of sources.

Laimbeer's been endorsed publicly by Barkley

And on an unrelated note (hopefully), Charles also inferred he’s off to Amsterdam to smoke pot.

Oh okay...just had a chance to read the article heading which made it seem much more likely if not already implemented

and yeah…they’ll need to participate in the political process of gettin politicians high and convincing them of the monetary impact it will have on tourism.

Cuz lets be honest, most Americans probably had no idea who Anne Frank was before going to Amsterdam and trying to find something else to do besides sitting in a dark coffee shop getting high.

I simply have no faith in the American Education System right now

Thats not to say that I don’t believe we have some highly intelligent teachers out there so for those of you on DBB I mean no disrespect to you. But I absolutely do not have faith that students going through our education system today get anywhere near the education that kids were getting 10 years ago. I chalk it mostly up to over-diagnosing of ADD, social media, and the general acceptance of children as young as 6 or 7 years old having cell phones.

And while I most definitely read Anne Frank’s diary, I highly doubt its assigned in rural West Virginia, Georgia, Mississippi, etc.

Biggest elephant in the room for America may be the education system.

I’ve heard it called “Teenager Daycare” and I’ve heard it called an “Adult Employment Agency”, but I really don’t think anyone knows what it should be.

In lieu of addressing it, we continue with this system who finds more and expensive ways to do things that became irrelevant over 50 years ago. Ultimately schools are what construct how our future society is shaped, and the fear of the future might be underlying why society as a whole straight ignores schools. Of course, no one says they are ignoring it, everyone says they are fixing it. People will throw around bandaid solutions and pat themselves on the back, yet throw anyone under the bus when they focus on the students outside of this spotlight.

Our education is a BIG, BIG system. It was a lofty undertaking when Horace Mann and those educators proposed it and it hasn’t gotten any easier to educate kids. We do have a legally compliant system, but to have a functioning system everyone would have to participate, classrooms should have parent liasons, School Board meetings should involve every household, and educational decisions should receive at least the same scrutiny we put towards Congressman’s weiners. Yet, since it exists, we don’t question it’s existence. Since we grew up with it, we’re numb to it’s flaws. And I think, since our memories of education are from our childhood, we discard any thoughts of schools and schooling along with all other childish things.

ADD is bad, but honestly, maybe school is BORING. Maybe everything a teacher is talking about half the kids could learn on their phone, and the other half can’t focus because the lesson isn’t engaging. Maybe our transmission model of education is only relevant in college classrooms and given that only 30% of the country ends up with degrees, they should find more authentic forms of learning to keep kids engaged who live in a faster paced modern world where knowledge is everywhere, and where students who would be able to make a perfect living working in a field or factory their whole life have no choice but to succeed academically despite that having no place in their family’s culture.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

honestly though, can we stop using the word “front-runner?” No one has even been interviewed yet.

by madpoopz on Jun 9, 2011 10:42 AM EDT up reply actions

but he happens to be running in front poopz. You're taking his words too figuratively. You must think more literally.

Laimbeer is not the front-runner in any head coaching races because Laimbeer knows not to waste energy on running in front. He’d much rather do the coaches trot from behind while devoting his energy to more important aspects of coaching like pointing and smiling or mastering the Larry Brown limp wrist wave.

I discovered them at a show in Grand Rapids a couple of years ago.

They were opening for the Gaslight Anthem. I’d never heard of them before that day, but I was a fan by the time they finished playing “Three Men Hanging.” They have a completely unique sound. Also, their cello player is very attractive.

Laimbeer and Vesely

Laimbeer is an interesting choice as coach.

Vesely sucks.

The Pistons should avoid his guy like the plague.

Can’t shoot 44% from the FT line last season
Can’t rebound – less than 4 per game in 27 mpg last season
Has Kwame Brown like hands.

All Vesely can do is jump and run.
