New Pistons fan here
hello my fellow pistons fans. i just wanted to introduce myself real quick to all the regulars here. i recently gained an interest in basketball and decided to become a pistons fan. i was never a big fan of any sport that wasn't football but here lately i have started liking basketball, baseball, and even a little hockey. so seeing as i was born in michigan, i said why not be a pistons fan. i actually live in TN but never cared for the grizzlies for some reason. i refuse to accept the bandwagon jumper role as a new pistons fan cuz they just plain suck this year. but maybe i can bring them some good luck and they can get back on track. anyways i just wanted to say thanks for having me on the site.

Better ten of you
than 100 bandwagon asscats. Welcome aboard and it can only go up from here (although I thought that last year as well).
thanks guys
i look forward to all the frustrating losses until we get back on track lol, but it will eventually happen for us, we just gotta stick with them and have faith.
this is a good place to become a basketball fan at.
Couple of years ago I knew nothing about basketball. Now I know what a rebound is. Now that’s improvement.

Get out while you can! There’s still time to be a Timberwolves fan!
Nah, just kidding. Welcome to the best Pistons blog on the interwebs! Looking forward to sharing frustration and annoyance with you when Tayshaun lets the shot clock run down to 3 before shooting it himself instead of passing to Monroe.

You have chosen... poorly.

In all seriousness, welcome.

It’s nice to meet another TN pistons fan! I don’t blame you for not taking to the Grizzlies, for some reason they are hard to pull for.

Welcome!
As soon as I read:
New Pistons fan here
I thought someone was trolling us hard. Then I realized there’s probably no other fan base that cares enough about the Pistons right now to go to the trouble of trolling us.
Then I got sad.
Then I realized it could be Stephen Jackson trolling us after the game last night.
Then I got mad.
Then I realized it was posted before the game.
So…. WELCOME! And good luck. If you can stay a Piston’s fan for the 3 years it’s going to take for this team to be competitive, you deserve all the accolades. All of them.

thanks
well I’m stuck to the detroit fan base like glue now. i may be new to detroit sports, but once I’m in, I’m in, through the good, bad, and the ugly. right now I’m prepared for the ugly. next year should be bad. and by that third year u speak of we should be back to good. but in the case were just as bad or worse, i’m still all in. besides theirs always the lions, tigers, red wings and wolverines for me to fall back on when the pistons are bad.
wooo lions, tigers, wings
booo wolverines

Both the major colleges had good seasons.
Chill out dude.

Tigers will be good.
Lions should stay good. Red Wings rarely disappoint. Pistons are a roller coaster, but they’re our roller coaster.
I tend to get a bad case on nausea on those.
But I don’t vomit, I just feel like dying for a couple of hours and then I pass out.
Which pretty much resembles how I feel every night I watch a Pistons game.

Welcome from another TN Pistons fan!
I’ve been a fan since the Dave Bing days, when I lived in Virginia. We’ve had some great teams over the years – along with the bad ones. I’m looking forward to seeing them in person when they travel to Memphis in March. Should be interesting to see Monroe matched up against Gasol.
I hope so ...
But Gasol is playing well and is becoming one of the top centers, so it will be a challenging matchup for Monroe. If he can score on him and hold Gasol in check, that would be great. Considering that Monroe should be a college senior this year, I think he still has lots of upside. It’s conceivable that he’ll become a 20 and 10 big man.
It’s conceivable that he’ll become a 20 and 10 big man.
The only thing keeping him from doing that right now is about 4 more minutes per game and 2 more shot attempts.
In other words, Zach Randolph, Rudy Gay, Michael Conley, and OJ Mayo...
although at second glance, Gasol is getting the 2nd most shot attempts on the team. I don’t think he’s getting much more than that without sacrificing any of the guys above. I guess Mayo could be gone though.

I was replying to Jared F and saying I thought Monroe could become a 20-10 guy. I took your response to mean that you think he just needs a few more minutes and shot attempts to get there. I gather that The Bourns thought I was saying Gasol could be a 20-10 guy, and was pointing out that he has more competition for shots from his teammates than Monroe currently does. I’ve always looked at 20-10 guys as the best of the best in the frontcourt, and it’s great to have a guy like Monroe who is blossoming into that kind of pro!
I can see clearly now the rain is gone.
