Open Threads?

As a business owner there is one thing that just annoys the hell out of me....

Star-divide

When customers tell me how to run my operation. So im going to simply ask, why there is no open threads on DBB? This has quickly become the blog is obsessively refresh while at work. I have things I want to say about things that are simply to random to make a fanshot, fanpost, and doesnt belong in any other thread. Often this includes other players who I dont care to much about other than to take a dig in or golf clap a performance. Also a lot of times between games or even after games since there is no game recap. I understand that maybe it was to time consuming which is why it would be a quick 10 seconds to do an open thread. Anyhow thanks for listening to me tell you guys how to do your job. Wealthy Industrialists in a survey have already recced this post.

FanPosts are user-created posts from the Detroit Bad Boys community and do not necessarily reflect the opinions of all fans or the staff at DBB. The DBB staff reserves the right at any time to edit the contents of FanPosts as they reasonably see fit.

That the community pipes in non stop like DBB they do one (at least) per day on the main page, but Weekly fanshot would be better than nothing for sure. Again who knows, maybe it wouldn’t even work out well.

I was thinking a weekly fanshot because it would stay in the sidebar all week, so any time anyone has any thing to say outside of Pistons news, they can drop a comment there.

I agree with MFMP on this one. Sounds fun, one per week sounds easy to maintain.

Right, works well for the SBN White Sox blog

Their most recent:

The most important thing will be creating a proper name for it. One that incorporates the drunkenness, the surliness, the red pandaness. MFOT?

Oden: God of recurring sports related injuries > Odin: Norse god.

Nightly prayers- By the power of Oden, may all the star players of Pistons’ opponents have niggling injuries except for LeBron, please feel the full wrath of Oden.

What usually works...

is if somebody wants an OT thread, somebody makes a fanpost to dedicate it. People rec it so it stays up top and it goes until other things make it neglected. OT threads are usually a community run thing and if there isn’t one made, go ahead and make one.

I'm with this

Find some random shit and toss an ‘OT:’ in front of it, but then we can talk about whatever in there like “”http://www.latestnewsexplorer.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/06/Friends-with-Benefits.jpg" >OT: Bet you can’t watch 10 minutes no matter how high your tolerance for pain"

I didn't mind Timberlake as a singer

But he looks like an absolute tool/douche as an actor

Without a doubt, squats are a cure for everything.

I saw part of it. It was better than the Kutcher-Portman version, surprisingly.

by Birdman84 on Jan 14, 2012 10:53 PM EST up reply actions

Probably because Mila Kunis is a much better fit than Portman

That and well I can’t ever take Kutcher seriously (which is why I surprisingly really like the new season of two and a half men)

Without a doubt, squats are a cure for everything.

I could watch it on mute. (mumbles something about making a “mila” her “kunis”)

Is this the open thread?

Anyway, has anyone noticed that wrong DaJuan has started the last 2 games for the Hornets?

by rooneymac on Jan 15, 2012 4:50 AM EST reply actions

yeah I've been following him and Terrico

He’s doing alright, nothing special, but I wouldn’t mind him over Tay right now

Without a doubt, squats are a cure for everything.

he's F-ing horrible

5 missed shots, 5 personal fouls, zero points the other night… he’s playing like he did as a Piston.

Wait so the question mark is throwing me off...

Does this count as the open thread? If so, I have a comment I’d like to make…but I’d prefer to wait for confirmation of the openness of this thread. How open is it? Like hot dog down a hallway open or more of a 2 SUVs parked in a 2 car garage kind of open?

The 's' is what's getting me

Is this more than one thread? Am I in an alternate reality? Do bagels and cream cheese exist in this split dimension? I am but a lost soul in this vast, cruel world.

by Rob Rogacki on Jan 16, 2012 11:04 AM EST up reply actions

I could go for some bagels and cream cheese right now

Seattle just got fucked by mother nature…trying to decide whether I should attempt to get in to work or not.

I’m literally seconds away from walking out the door to pick up a toasted salt bagel with cream cheese for an early lunch. Weirdness. I’ll buy one for MFHandsomeRob and MFBoo. Then I will eat them.

gotta get those carbs so you can afford to do squats later!
