SBN's Latest Rookie Rankings: Brandon Knight Rankless
While listing the top 10 players from the 2011 NBA Draft, SB Nation writer Rohan Cruyff excludes Brandon Knight altogether (not even amongst the five players he suggests are "on the fringes"). Sadly for us, Cruyff is no hater, he puts together what I consider to be the best power rankings amongst NBA writers. They're all objectively oriented and justified in detail.
I'm still pissed Detroit didn't go after the undrafted Gustavo Ayon, and I'm even more pissed in seeing his per minute production. What really takes the cake is his nickname-- they've taken to calling him "Goose" in NOLA. Can you imagine how much fun a Moose/Goose frontcourt would be? Le sigh...

Dear Gustavo—
It’s a shame we can play together only in the off-season.

On the bright side Knight is #6 this week on NBA.com’s rookie ranking, so there’s that.
In a recent interview with Pistons.com, team president Joe Dumars raved about Knight’s work ethic. “You pull him aside and talk to him about a weakness, something you have to improve on, you can best believe that the next time you see him on the court, he’s either working on it or you can see he’s trying to improve on it,” Dumars said. "That’s the true mark right there. When you talk to a young guy and say here’s a shortcoming you have, here’s a hole in your game, and you see him put hours and hours into it and see him start to improve on it right away, then you know this kid’s got something in him to be great. Because that’s all greatness is - continuing to get better and better and better and never being satisfied.‘’ In his past five games, Knight is averaging 14.2 points and was key to the Pistons’ recent 94-91 win over Portland, scoring 14 points and sparking the key rally. Did you mean to cross that out as a sign of umbrage,
or did it just happen?
I remember something I typed once came out all struck out. I’m still not clear what I did.

It just happened. I cut and pasted all of that text from an NBA.com article. There must have been a hyphen or two in there that caused the strikethrough, I’m guessing!
